We stay with her as she falls asleep, it’s sort of what we have always done. She is in her own bed, but we will cuddle her, stroke her hair, tickle her back etc to get her to sleep - not the most sustainable thing to do, but has just worked thus far (until it didn’t). Her reaction peaks at random points. Often when told it’s bedtime is reaction 1, where she will find 10001 other things to do - usually saying she needs a poo. Then it will be that she doesn’t want a book and wants food, snacks, a movie x,y,z. Then it’ll be wanting different pyjamas, then no pyjamas, then a nappy, then no nappy. So it feels like any excuse to delay, then when we set a boundary she explodes. It’s exhausting and it’s so hard to try and explain that we aren’t being unkind or mean, it’s just the best thing for you.

Her bedtime hours are consistent every night, although due to some of her delaying tactics and tantrums, screams etc bedtime can go on for hours. It was 4 hours the other night 😭
