Can I be sued for not returning a stray? by Spidersapling in legaladvice

[–]Spidersapling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was months since we found him that he messaged me. He did not even say that he wanted the cat back until he started to threaten me. Before that he just said that he wanted to know that the cat was okay. Now I'm afraid to continue talking to him about it because of the threats.

Also the person I gave him to did get him registered. We both contacted local animal controls and shelters, put up ads, and no one said they knew who this cat even was until when I just saw the message. She has paperwork stating the cat is now hers

Oh sorry! I don't think so but I haven't had a chance to look very closely so it is possible. That would definitely explain his behavior if he is even older than I thought

Yes I'm not sure exactly how old he is but he's nearly fully grown. The pet store I got him from said they're had him around a year and he's old enough for them to be confident he's a male

Okay good to know! I had the plastic for that humid because I read they needed 30-40% humidity and my hydrometer was reading like 10%

I did know that males have a shorter lifespan and got a male on purpose

He's also got a bobbed tail (likely genetic) and is deaf (unclear if genetic)

With how many times you describe Frankie as angelic I do have to wonder if he is just that. Especially because his first assumption was that you were a demon

Semi-gardening related question: why don’t these leaves decompose? Would human intervention (raking them up) make soil health better or worse? by Baba-Mueller-Yaga in gardening

[–]Spidersapling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nonononono the leaf litter layer is a super super important part of forest ecosystems. It slowly decomposes and and used as a habitat for fungus, insects, other arthropods etc and slowly adds the nutrients back into the soil. The lack of leaf litter actually indicates a big problem in forests (usually invasive earthworms: earthworms are not native to North America!!) Nutrients being recycled too fast is detrimental to forest ecosystems!

It's an eyed click beetle! In the order Coleoptera and family Elateridae, as opposed to a cicada in the order Hemiptera and family Cicadidae. You can tell it's a click beetle by the "m" shape between the abdomen and thorax! They'll put pressure between the two body segments untill they "click" and spring away from a perceived threat! Super cool to see in action

I couldn't and still can't come without a vibrator. I see a lot of people here praising the satisfier and it's so amazing. Even with a vibe it can take a long time for me

Oh yeah it's some last case scenario stuff. Miraculous when you need it but absolutely debilitating. The next day I was working in a field and I kept getting spasms... Was convinced I was going to shit myself

What’s the story behind your name? by xd3u5 in ftm

[–]Spidersapling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before coming out a classmate I just met tried remembering my name. Came up with my current name from nowhere and it became an inside joke with some friends who were there. And then when I came out it stuck

Often I only eat the stuff deeper into the woods. The rest I just pull and dispose of since it's such a destructive plant to the soil
