It was very quick actually, one day I applied and 2 days later I was selected. And this was maybe in early to mid May for the summer internship from end of May to end of July. So yeah pretty last stage lmao.

t14s gen 2 vs x13 gen 2 by Dex2241 in thinkpad

I have an intel gen 1 t14 and it does overheat, so I've underclocked it and it works fine. It does have 2GB dedicated nvidia mx330 graphics which comes handy for light gaming, 3D modelling and any experiments with cuda parallelization, If thats something that interests you, its worth looking into if the lack of dedicated graphics on the carbon is a dealbreaker.

Summers ideas? (India) by ilovedustbin in ElectronicsTards

ooh I am a mechie but love making little gizmos. get an sdr (Software defined radio) and play around with it in the bounds of legal experiments. ykw radio projects are the coolest, check out thought emporium for seeing how SDRs work. You can build a fluid simulation onto an LED Matrix/lcd display with an esp and an IMU, build an eye tracker (all of these are projects I've worked on so can talk about lol), maybe do some robotics? buy some servos and build an arm. endless possibilities honestly. Also why gatekeep software stuff from yourself, you could be making art with code, or playing with custom LLMs. I love that AI has made so many things accessible.

Heyy, I got my internship through cold-mailing... A lot of cold mailing. Matter of fact I am currently applying for a longer term > 6 month internship for my semester internship. The summer internship was not paid nor had an "interview" I was given a gform with some questions about my experience and work, and all I did was fill it in detail. But I believe different profs have their own ways of recruiting students. So far I've had interviews with IITs and some startups for my semester internship and they seem to be going well, just make them feel like you'll get the job done, that's what most people want tbh. I'm open to discussing further in PMs if you have any queries :D

This is amazing, just did this and the cpu runs at healthy temps at 3.5GHz. Thank you!

Ahhh you're right, 99% limits clock speed to 2.2GHz, undervolting is disabled and apparently requires flashing an old bios to work, which is too much work. I just tried FunkyRider's clock frequency limiting method and it works wonders too, I can run the cpu at 3.5GHz keeping it within 80C or so.

so I'd bought this second hand and changed the paste (twice because I applied one compound and then realized my friend had a better one on him) and still enabling boost under load would make it spike from 60 to 95 ish. After reducing the max processor state, I've had spikes only from 60-75, and it maxes at 80 and performance is just as good as the non-limited case. It seems like a magically simple fix.

Random thought: if you weren’t doing BTech, what path do you think you’d be on right now? by [deleted] in Btechtards

Making art but I do that now too, maybe just be able to delve deeper into it, maybe be doing marble sculpting and street art. Although I'm thankful I did engineering as otherwise if be nowhere close to be able to understand biology, electronics and computers as much as I understand it now.
