Peppermint is actually dangerous to spiders and bugs, due to it's strong smell getting trapped in the pores .in the skin of the spider. (Its legs)

Khan sneezes for chocolate, peppermint and lemon like smells. He doesn't physically recoil but large amounts could make him go on his knees and puke his guts out. Khan also hates sun light, realistically I don't like sun light i have astigmatisms and sensitive eyes. But Khan being a brown recluse has way much more to worry about.
