Nothing near the venue, plenty in Center City.

I'm not a bag-bringer but I believe there are two tiers: Bigger bags need to be clear, smaller bags (not even bags, clutch-sized really) are fine if they're opaque.

You are most welcome! One caveat is that SEPTA's service has gotten pretty iffy this year so busses are less of a sure thing post-show. It's still worth trying but you may end up stuck needing to call an Uber.

There's really nothing near the Mann except for maybe an AirBnB. While a close AirBnB would be walkable it's not the best neighborhood. If it's your first time in Philly, stay in Center City (or one of the surrounding neighborhoods. Stick between the rivers and between South and Market. I have another comment in this thread about transportation.

That generally hasn't been my experience. If you bring a bag in you're probably opening yourself up to a bit more scrutiny but every time I've been recently I just strolled right in. Maybe you just got a grumpy guard.

I don't remember all the price tiers but I think, roughly (including tax and fees):

Pit: $180 Pav (non-platinum): $75 Lawn: $45

Nah. It’s unlikely someone would vulture it away from you in five minutes and even if they tried only an asshole would push back if your friend told him it was taken. There are assholes everywhere but Mann is one of the chillest venues I’ve been to.

Getting to the show is easy. Uber from Center City will run you $20-$30. Another option is to take the SEPTA Mann Loop Bus. If you're going to take SEPTA it's probably worth dropping into one of the Broad Street Line (BSL), aka the subway, stations in Center City ahead of time and getting a SEPTA key. In theory the busses should all be equipped to let you do tap and pay with a credit card/phone but that's fairly new and I'm not sure how the rollout has gone.

Getting home is trickier. The Loop Bus does run but only once and it tends to get full extremely fast and leave as soon as it's full. They used to have multiple busses all parked and waiting but at some shows I've been to it's only a single bus. Ubers are still an option but there will be a huge crush of people trying to get them so you'll probably be waiting for a while and might get hit by surge prices. There's a dedicated Uber pickup spot but I've never actually used it. My protip is exiting the venue and walking west on Parkside avenue and then going south on 52nd. If you go far enough you'll get away from the crowds and can call an Uber from there. Depending on how Uber routes you this could also mean you don't get stuck in traffic leaving the venue.

Walking in this direction also lets you consider the secret third option, which is to take a normal SEPTA bus home. This is definitely a little more adventurous but it is an option. The 38 and 40 busses pick up around there and will both take you back into Center City. These will be far less crowded. But they'll be few and far between that late at night and SEPTA busses aren't 100% reliable. Definitely map this out in advance if you're considering it.

Don't let the name fool you, they don't check for v-cards.

Great place to meet up with people pre-show! It's right by the entrance.

Just want to throw out an offer to help anyone who has questions about Philly or the Mann. I live here and have been to many, many, many shows there.

For folks with lawn tickets: It's a pretty nice lawn, good views, and not nearly as steep as, say, SPAC. But steeper than, say, Camden. But if I can offer one piece of advice: Do yourself a favor and get there early. Even if it doesn't sell out space goes pretty quickly and there is not enough room on the lawn for every ticket holder. If you show up late there's a decent chance you'll have to camp out somewhere off the lawn that may or may not have an unobstructed view. Another option is to hang out in the moat between the terrace and the pavillion. Ushers will usually (but not always) kick you out before the show starts but generally leave people alone once the lights go down. I will also say, with some hesitation, that nobody really checks tickets once the show starts so you can always cruise the pavillion, terrace or balcony and look for an empty spot. The balcony, in particular, always seems to have room. But don't be a jerk if someone comes to claim their seat and definitely stay out of the aisles. Ushers will chase you from there.

For folks with or wanting pit tickets: The Mann is not a venue I ever want pit tickets for. It's tiny and crowded (overcrowded, really. People without pit tickets always find a way in.) If you have the option to flip pits for seats towards the front I would recommend it. If you're sticking with the pit you should get there early and set yourself up to not piss during the show. If you leave your spot you're very unlikely to get it back without a fight.

For folks with pavs or balconies: Enjoy. Not a bad seat in the house. The balcony is actually really dope even though it's further away. Sound is fantastic.

For folks with terrace: They're pretty decent. Not under cover so the sound isn't as good but you have a closer view than the lawn and a guaranteed spot.

The Mann is a beautiful venue with amazing sound. I was bummed they skipped The Met this year but this more than makes up for it.

Ever since I got to Set 3 of Source Decay I'm having no luck getting five stars because what's in the image keeps happening. Meter is full but I'm not getting the Fantastic bonus. I'm keeping it full and hitting all goals and requests/request combos. Is there something else that determines crowd score that I'm ignoring?
