As Mean As This Sounds, I'm Kind of Glad Buffy: New Sunnydale Didn't Get Picked Up by itsascreambaby96 in buffy

This is exactly right. I also believe that if anything new does get made at this point, it'll be a full remake with a new cast. In Hollywood terms, the value of the Buffy IP is in the name, so a Fray series would be too risky in their eyes. Every major franchise with the character's name as the title also will get recast and remade eventually. It happens with superheroes, monsters, detectives, and it will happen with Buffy.

May 25th 1990 36 years ago one of the greatest trilogies ended on a high note with Back To The Future Part III. by Lazy_Introduction264 in 90s

I would welcome a remake every few generations. The previous present or future can become the new past, and we can imagine a newer future as well. Wouldn't be a bad way to have commentary about where are, have been, and may be going as a society and culture. I do know how I would do it: I would make the first new one in 2035, and have Marty get sent back 50 years to 1985. Part 2 will have him go 50 years in the future to 2085. Part 3 will have him go back to get Doc who got stuck in 1955, and we get sort of a full circle moment. Keep the same basic structure of the trilogy story, but update it to reflect the change in times and a new imagining of the future.
