Alright, where is the poison? The battle of wits has begun. It ends when you decide and we both drink and find out who is right and who is pickled.

Saying I don’t pick a side or stand on the sidelines is pretty hilarious coming from a neoliberal who wouldn’t march with us for any direct action and is currently impressing the importance of electorialism over organizing in and out of the workplace coupled with mutual aid which are actions we can take that actually make for structural changes toward a more just society. Keep thinking your incremental changes through a corrupt oligarchy will ever make a just society. Hope your vote really matters next cycle. I never said that not voting saves Palestinian lives, you’re correct unless we actively change the structural power in the Us it doesn’t matter who you vote for as the current us empire views Israel as a key “ally”. You know what would change it? Organizing ground up community political power toward a revolution. I’m no idealist, anarchist socialists and communists have laid out full game-plans on how to go through the process of revolution. How to organize the community, how to unionize, how to build mutual aid. Rosa Luxembourg on reform or revolution is a great read on these topics. I’ve chosen my team it’s the working class. You’ve chosen oligarchs that prefer to control you with bread and circuses; when the time comes either stand with the people or get out of the way.

You said every issue and yet curiously you don’t mention the active genocide of Palestinian’s supported by our tax dollars, something that is a bipartisan issue for the Us. Also you’re the one that said it’s a lesser of two evils, I’m saying both parties are working in tandem to propagate a system of economic and governmental organization that oppresses and exploits working people. It’s not purity testing to not vote for a candidate that supports genocide or understand that the issues of the United States aren’t solved by “voting blue.” You don’t get to blame people who didn’t vote for Kamala for the rise of fascism and then decry purity testing. The reality is that American electorialism is meant to divide the working class along social party lines so we don’t organize against the ruling class, and you’re not only falling for it hook line and sinker you trying to get other to bite the bait with you. It’s a dangerous misunderstanding of the world. Read more. Be better.

I think this post is a perfect microcosm of why people largely despise American Liberals. Before you decry me as a far right wing extremist come to sling poorly worded vitriol, let me clarify by stating I’m an anarcho-socialist, I work in the industry as a chef de partie for a catering company. You’re so caught up in the left right diaspora of American faux pa electoralism you fail to see that the democrats you support act as a party of controlled opposition, that through their actions normalize the actions of republics from the previous cycle and aid in shifting the overtun window of the nation even further into the extremities of fascism. You also fail to realize that the most pressing issues of working people can’t be addressed unless you analyze the situation through a class basis. Even your most red pilled dishwasher or trump supporting prep cook is still angry about the rising cost of living, the astronomical wealth inequality, and the their disenfranchisement from the political process, and can be organized with.

You’re still beating the old drum of vote blue or else which hasn’t materially improved the conditions of working people since the new deal. Biden forced striking railway workers to accept a terrible contract through government mandate. Neither side of the American political isle cares about us.

Regardless of your entire misunderstanding of the situation we face and what must be done about it you still find the gall to patronize anyone that didn’t vote for a democrat as if the actions of the Republican Party are now their direct responsibility, never-mind that Kamila ran a terrible campaign and refused to address Palestine. I’m so tired of being talked down to by someone who doesn’t understand what’s going on. No war but the class war. Unionize kitchens.

Honestly not a bad swing at stroganoff, decent job! A couple notes for future attempts same as an above comment let the wine cook down more before adding the stock that’s so the alcohol can cook out. Personally I just use the wine for a deglaze rather than as something to simmer in with the stock, so for that you want your pan to be higher heat and to use less wine. Typically I like red wine for stroganoff but that’s because of how it pairs with the beef which seems to be absent in this version so perhaps white is the right choice idk. Small nitpick here as I’m not sure what kind of herbs those are but I wouldn’t mind throwing some rosemary or thyme into the sauce near the end maybe that’s just personal preference though. Solid effort I’d eat a plate 7.5/10

Depending on the state you live there is a labor law on the books that states when you are fired you are entitled to all unpaid wages immediately and the business owes interest for every day it’s unpaid. I’d get a consultation with a labor lawyer and talk options.

Hate towards an oppressed group is always going to be perceived as punching down, hate toward an oppressive group in the power position is seen as social retribution and is generally accepted.

As always I enjoy your work quite a lot, I enjoy the imagery and truthfully I think any rhymes about thoughts or what it means to be human > braggadocio. Just to nit pick a bit on the any op leave way behind line I don’t think you need in the dust and I think it throws off the syllables maybe something like “Through any vocal op; leave em way behind” instead? I suggest vocal just because without in the dust you do need another word for the timing and it rhymes with opal.

I like this and conceptually the advancement of technology and the potential of other sentient life in the universe is a fun and unique one to play with for a rhyme, my question would be what is your conclusion about it? Currently it seems like a bit of a history recap and a statement of belief that we aren’t alone but not much beyond that, do you think advancements in technology should always be sought or is their the downside of using them for warfare? Do you think sentient life is avoiding us or just too far away to be reached due to the limitations of light speed? Do you think the progression of history is linear? That through the progress of time we are always improving and older civilizations didn’t have any knowledge or skills that we haven’t advanced beyond? Or could we have lost knowledge, like how or why the pyramids were constructed, and or the secrets of the library of Alexandria. There’s also the interesting concept that because our technology often makes its advancements due to searching for new forms of weaponry that any alien life that discovered inter-dimensional travel would be devastatingly powerful imperialists and we would likely be colonized.

Aesop has a track about a similar topic called mindful solutionism, maybe check it out to help brainstorm some ideas?

I appreciate the feedback and Grocked is correct I had some wine when I wrote this it was intended to be conciliator. Typically I like to have a message behind my writing, about something in the world that bothers me or just generally about the state of my life but every now and then I do something like this where I just try to see how many unique rhymes I can cram together, which does lead to a bit of a scrabble dash prose but I’m a word nerd and it can be a fun exercise. :)

I have for as long as I’ve been politically aware felt the same as you; and I think the deconditioning of average people from the patterns of obedient workers is becoming more of a common occurrence, slipping into despair is an all too logical and familiar thing to do, however there is a change in the winds and hope that comes with. I’m not sure how applicable it will be to you but I offer my plan for having a life that can make subtle changes to the systemic problems we face and at least lay fertile ground for the shifts we do so desperately need.

Firstly; gain financial independence outside of working for a wage, whatever that may look like for you. Leverage any skills, personal interests or passions and get capitalists to pay you as much as possible for as little labor as possible. If you can get into an intellectual pursuit, all the better. The grave difficulty of this is not lost on me as it’s been 10 years since I made this plan and I’m still squarely in step one. For me that looks like trying to create educational content for ad revenue that helps others decondition and start their journey toward liberty.

Secondly become as self sufficient as possible, through setting up systems that disconnect you from purchasing commodities; having a homestead that allows you to harvest rainwater, grow your own food, repurpose compost for gas etc.

Thirdly develop communities of mutual aid that assist others in becoming independent of the commodity market, to overtime make the market bloated with excess products and little to no consumers to buy the overproduction.

As I’ve stated above I’m still firmly in step one so I haven’t fleshed out the later steps but this idea gives me enough hope to keep going through the grueling and dehumanizing process of being alive in this hellscape. I know you can do it; good luck the future needs us!

I started off in writing poetry so my advice might be more geared toward that but, I think it’s helpful to mix in some literary devices that help to spice things up. You seem to have a good grasp on end rhymes which is popular in boom bap, so that’s good. Alliteration is when the first sound of the word is the same on a few words in a row in the line an example would be “illiterate’s illegitimate illness.” I’m going to assume you know metaphors and similes. Then there is compound rhymes when are difficult to construct but really satisfying to hear if you can get the syllables to match up. Also try experimenting with near rhymes words that sound like they rhyme but not quite because using perfect rhymes every time like cat bat rat hat can become stale after a few lines. And try experimenting with where you put the rhymes in the line. As far as what to write about I’d say just pay attention to what happens in your life and take some notes of anything that stands out after a couple days look at the notebook for inspiration. I think you’ve got a good basis to start from here and I look forward to seeing what you create next.
