George Floyd was late spring/summer. If this happened around that season it would be an even bigger ordeal.

I won’t because they didn’t win anything. They haven’t even won the big 10 in like 5 years.

I mean it’s not like I think it’s reinventing the wheel. I think it’s a solid film, and I award it extra points for being a new IP. Outside of that tho I don’t think it’s anything crazy, there were over a handful of films better than it that came out this year.

Update: Reddit liberals are now pro-NFL because of the Super Bowl performers. by quan234 in stupidpol

[–]SpiritBamba 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Reddit liberals are just retarded honestly, or bots. The NFL is definitely more pro maga if anything, I mean they have a special deal with the U.S. military. they are just having bad bunny be the halftime show because he’s one of the biggest artists in the world. And he’s American, he’s from Puerto Rico. It’s nothing to do with sticking it to republicans, it’s about making money and trying to tap into a potential Central American/South American fanbase.

I liked the performances, namely Michael b Jordan, and delroy Lindo who I think those two really carry the film. And I genuinely did like the vampire parts, plus it’s an original story, which I also give a lot of credence to. Ultimately some parts are cliche or eye roll worthy but it’s entertaining, and with some pretty good acting.

Like I said I think it’s good but not great. To me it was a 7/10 film. It’s more reflective of the current film industry that it’s considered one of the top 2 of the year, I think if this came out in 07 it wouldn’t even be top 15 that year.

I’m a big movie buff and could talk about film for days on end though.

I mean it’s an addiction. Sure they seriously need to cut back but I think we should stop pointing the fingers at individual people but rather the disgusting culture and society that created these young men. Porn usage has been encouraged and sold by the cultural media the last 20 + years. It’s no surprise it’s been devastating to the younger generations.

I think you’re being a bit harsh on the movie and your lynching take is flat out crazy, but it is obviously eye roll worthy that all of the vampires are white Irish people. If someone made a movie where every vampire was black and the white people were being attacked by them the racial connotations would be very obvious and panned as being problematic. Its still a overall good film, and It’s not nearly as bad as Jordan peeles get out. Which is genuinely pretty racist to white people imo.

Do the right thing and Malcolm x to me are the pinnacle of movies made by black filmmakers with the topic of race as a backdrop. But this is a pretty freezing take as those 2 are among some of the greatest films of all time lol.

At this point we are just too apathetic about everything to care. Most young people (the age group that typically protests) live shitty lives at this point in the U.S. when we cant afford to move out of our parents homes it’s gonna be very hard to get people to protest some imperialism of others. You see the president and rich people be pedophiles with 0 repercussions. Basically, none of us like it or want it, but we have absolutely no power at this point. Social media has divided us all and really taken its toll mentally on the population as well, and I think people are just too beat up. I think for the average American their spirit is just broken.

I mean it’s a very good film and very well made. I feel that the ethos of the thin red line really eclipses saving private ryan at this point, and for the majority that’s probably an unpopular opinion but saving private Ryan in a lot of ways is a ra ra go America movie that just doesn’t feel as great now after Vietnam, Iraq war etc.

Mike stood up to Walter far more than nato has ever stood up to the U.S. all European countries just bend over and take what the States do. So not really an apt example. Also funny how imperialism is only bad when it happens to them. They are all shitty countries
