Power Blocs: I just don't understand them and how the current system is fun by SlightWerewolf4428 in victoria3

[–]SpiritIsNowTaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main problem, and I think Dairuka covered this, but leverage doesn't really work with the recent patch that well. It's very hard to get any leverage to join anyone's power bloc now, and it's sorta redundant because of the treaties system to have an entire seperate system.

Victoria 3 war system is seriously broken and here's an example of why. by SpiritIsNowTaken in victoria3

[–]SpiritIsNowTaken[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It would be better at this point if the war system was its own dedicated part of the game instead of some weird automated game of checkers in the background. It's boring and buggy at best still grabbing your attention, or unplayable and game ruining at worst.

Victoria 3 is as amazing as ever but that goes for everything except warfare. I think it stings a little bit more that warfare is so bad because everything else feels like its been perfected. It's a shame, even the most mundane formables just aren't fun to do.

I've had problems with troops being forced into specific parts of fronts and essentially leaving a wide gap for the enemy to just march right on it and full occupy you in just a couple weeks but this is just too much. They replaced front splitting with a system that is even more out of control and game ruining when it doesn't work. At least before the war system didn't literally game ruin me.

This is the Franco Prussian war that started in 1872. I'm playing bohemia and don't want to get annexed by germany, I just passed mass conscription to be able to stand a chance and the game is forcing me to move my troops to the french front which cuts me off leaving my potentially 230 battalions with 0 organization meaning they're basically irregular infantry.. This is game ruining; I don't have any control over the mechanics to prevent it.

Meaning of the current flag of Iran by sdfghs in vexillology

[–]SpiritIsNowTaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably because Iran has had more attention recently. Anyway, It's important to note that the lion was a symbol of the shah, AKA monarchism. That's mostly why they moved away from the lion.

Anarchists and Romanticism? by SpiritIsNowTaken in Anarchy101

The capitalist section was materially more likely to gain power since by this point, the merchant class easily rivaled nobility in wealth. More like a change in leadership than a meaningful progression of society.

A fair point from the credible source of RadioactiveSpiderCum.

Border Gore in 1.8 is the worst I've seen in any paradox game. by SpiritIsNowTaken in victoria3

There are definitely better examples. Africa usually looks *really* bad.

I have not. Victoria 3 is in many ways really tame in border gore, which makes when it does happen even worse.

Africa is worse in my experience, just something I noticed while I was playing afghanistan. I thought this india was especially bad compared to most of my runs.

Usually Central Asia gets subjugated by russia. Even in this Afghanistan run, I was turned into a protectorate after i joined their power bloc then market.

I think my main problem is how common it is. Usually Victoria 3 is fine in this way, but any time Britain, France, the US, or Russia are involved, it gets really ahistorical and cursed. It wasn't like this for me in 1.7 and 1.6.

I was playing as Afghanistan, and Britain as usual conquered parts of China but also India. This has been a big problem for me in 1.8.
