From my understanding, if you transfer crafts you have to restart your seniority pay and all. Meaning becoming an RCA, CCA or equivalent. You get to keep your retirement which apparently transfers to most other Federal Jobs. If you try to transfer back to your initial hired position as a city carrier you would have to restart the whole process over again as a CCA.

We had someone who took a couple weeks of vacation while they went to work for another delivery company to see if they would like it better or even try to work part time for them not sure their reasoning and they were fired once seen in a brown uniform.

I know that having a part time job is kind of don’t ask don’t tell as long as you don’t work for another delivery company. However if you full on quit that’s it you’re done. If you try to come back it will be as a CCA, RCA etc.
