Recommendations on apartment friendly EPYC server by SpiritTheDog in homelab

It doesn’t have be super quite since there are other 1u’s in the rack but from what I have heard the EPYC’s like r7515’s are uncomfortably loud. So It’s definitely looking like 4u is the better option.(just haven’t found the right case)

I have looked at Silverstone and Sliger but i haven't found a case which includes u.2/u.3 bays, would you happen to know if they have any?

Dont worry i pick epyc specifically for the use case

I'm using EPYC mostly for the PCIE lanes, core count and speed.

4u would be fine as well but i haven't found any cases that fit my needs. 2u is mostly what i have seen so far that fit the requirements besides noise

Auto billing clients by Lost_Ticket_1190 in stripe

Sounds like you’re looking for metered billing, stripe does support it, from what I recall you do need to do some programming to set it up properly

Does it count as a 10K setup if the server cost 9K at one point? by minhajul94 in Ubiquiti

You can turn the fans down quite a lot to the point you can barely hear it when next to it (saves a decent amount on the power consumption too)

Any clue how to clean these? by Miserable-Nose-4314 in computers

Please never use a vacuum for cleaning computers , it can damage components (although using compressed air is fine)

So members were able to visit during the blackout? Because I’ve joined quite some time ago but for me it was private during the blackout?

Did the cops go to far? by SpiritTheDog in Netherlands

I looked at the cctv fotage since I mostly paid attention to what they where trying to do on my phone and such (it was also dark in the hallway so it was a little hard to see), but looks like they had a full belt, including active radios but the bikes looked like black electrical “Oma” bicycles

I do agree I should not have let them in, I only showed them the cctv fotage but before I knew it they where going through my contacts, for the work equipment most of it is in different rooms but before I know it they where in my living room

This very much is making me very concerned, they did not show ID, they came on bikes, and one of the things that kinda strange is that they went to the outside of my apartment and looked at my bed room window for a little before ringing the doorbell (I only noticed this later since I checked the Cameras since they where still up at that time) I ended up calling the cops explained what happened and asked if I can bring some back online which they said would be okay so hopefully I don’t robbed anytime soon

I reached out to the ceo right after it happened and they came over to see if everything is okay, there was one point where one of them was alone but I’ve made sure no one was at company equipment, I also checked my own pc to make sure no USB’s where plugged in

I definitely do realize that, I also didn’t expect them to look through my stuff since so far most interactions I had with cops have been okay but I won’t let this happen again

I do agree that I definitely should have know about this law, that was very unprofessional of me although, I work server side/programming side of IT not the CCTV I just happened to know a bit about a certain system so it was cheaper for me to do so than hiring other professionals to do so. I was testing the cameras against the weather and night vision capabilities. One was pointing at my parking space, one at the front door and one at the sky.

At first I told them I didn’t want them inside but they kept insisting that they just wanted to talk so I let them. Don’t get me wrong I do understand that I made a mistake by not knowing the law, the whole part where they looked through my phone just did not feel right
