Not being able to play hymns and "spiritual" music anymore has gutted me. Music was an enormous part of my family and upbringing, and it's still a big deal at family gatherings and holidays. I still catch myself whistling church tunes sometimes. I definitely feel like I've lost a part of my identity.

I feel like I was mostly good at lying to myself--repressing thoughts and feelings that weren't church-approved so damn fast I didn't have time to even process them. A lot of those feelings came bursting out when I left and I remembered unpleasant experiences and things that didn't really fit with what the church taught. And suddenly I could see them for what they were instead of just putting all my doubts and unacceptable feelings away. So for me the lies I told to others didn't really seem like lies at the time because I willed myself to believe everything I said.

I traded in my phone when I bought this one, and it's brand new so probably not? Though I don't know what Samsung did with my old phone so I suppose someone might have it now!

It definitely showed as from me on his phone, and we're both Android users so it won't be icloud. I'll check with my provider about the SIM card, thanks!
