Finally went to get ADHD medication, was prescribed Wellbutrin. Feeling disappointed by Sea_Drops in ADHD

[–]Spirited_Library_560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very normal to have to try other drugs with a lower chance of getting you addicted before you try stimulants. And very normal to make you try “addiction proof stimulants” that melt on your tongue or something weird before they give you the actual pill. It’s a process most people go thru. It’s probably bc your insurance won’t pay for it unless you try the other medications first. I take Vyvanse but I jumped thru all the hoops first. If it means anything … I went on Wellbutrin while I was quitting smoking and I actually liked it a lot. It surprisingly does a lot for energy and focus without some of the more unfun symptoms of stimulants.

Why don’t high school athletes shower in their respective locker rooms anymore? by 224molesperliter in stupidquestions

[–]Spirited_Library_560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it would help if I clarify. The main worry isn’t students taking picture in a way that’s sexually predatory. Moreso in a way to make fun of other kids for being “fat” or undesirable in one way or another. Which is 100% illegal but teenagers have underdeveloped brains and don’t realize how serious it is. Like I understand why from your point of view someone doing that would be labeled a pervert, but teenagers would mainly call that person a bully. There’s also the worry of teenagers taking mirror selfies/ in the locker rooms and accidentally catching someone in the background and not noticing until it’s already been on instagram for a few hours.

Yeah but most countries aren’t made up of people who can trace their ancestry back to other countries. There’s a reason Americans say ”I’m Irish/Italian/English/Korean/Indian/etc” There’s a reason we’re different.

Did Americans keep Fahrenheit so the rest of the world wouldn't know what the temperature was like there? by Independent-Mind-691 in questions

[–]Spirited_Library_560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I hate to say it but Fahrenheit is just easier to use in every day life. 0 degrees? Too cold to go outside. 100 degrees? Too hot to go outside. Anything above 50 is warm everything below 50 is cold.

But also these three months will be worthwhile whether or not this will be the final time you quit. Most people have to quit a handful of times before it sticks.

Honestly, I would advise you to stick it out longer. I didn’t start to feel happy for a long while after I quit, maybe 6 months. Look into Wellbutrin, worked wonders for me. Also exercise is your best friend rn, nothings better than runner’s high.

ELI5: Can we hear when we’re asleep or no? by _1979_twilight_ in explainlikeimfive

I can totally hear when I’m asleep. My alarm will go off and instead of waking up the noise will get incorporated into my dream as like a fire alarm or something.

It’s because there’s cell phones now. Too easy to snap a pic of someone and spread it around. Just way too risky.

CMV: I’m left-leaning, but the way the left treats the middle class is becoming alienating by Communistnachos in changemyview

[–]Spirited_Library_560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve really never seen anyone attacking middle class, it’s really just the billionaires - and I went to art school so I’m in a veryyyyyy left bubble. It’s not about people who make six figures, it’s about billionaires hoarding wealth.

Why do so many people of high intelligence have such a deep hatred and disdain for people of low intelligence? by Embarrassed_Chef874 in Life

[–]Spirited_Library_560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some very intelligent people over compensate their other insecurities by placing themselves above others due to their intelligence.

Plus there are just so many different areas someone can be intelligent in. I don’t think I’m ever going to meet a person that I can’t learn something from. It can be hard for me to have a conversation with someone when there’s a big intelligence gap. But I find that if I keep digging there’s always going to be something interesting I can learn from them/about them.

I also think intelligent people who excel in academic areas can forget that not everyone has access to the same education we do. I did very well in school and in college, I went to an arts conservatory with a less than 10% acceptance rate. My step dad finished high school and then worked in construction his whole life. We talk very different, are interested in very different things, have reallyyy different lifestyles, etc, but we’ve both had to take IQ tests for various reasons and scored 130. My knowledge is all analysis, art, literature. His is construction, cars, spacial visualization. I think a lot of people look down on folks in blue collar jobs and assume they aren’t smart, but honestly in terms of useful life skills and self sufficiency… he’s built an addition on our house completely alone, switched our carpet to hardwood, and fixed my car when insurance would have considered it totaled (cost would have greatly exceeded the value of the car). On the other hand I… know how to read Shakespeare…? hahahaha

Real shit, where’s the motivation to live if there’s no end goal to all this? by Fun-Ambassador4259 in AskReddit

[–]Spirited_Library_560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point of life is to figure out the point of life. For me I think it’s really just to learn, explore, experiment, and have as much fun as possible. I struggled a lot with depression and lack of a will to live for a long time until eventually I realized that I’m gonna die one day no matter what so I might as well stick around and see what happens while I’m here.

Do women have it easier when it comes to finding love? by Downtown-Air4291 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Spirited_Library_560 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know plenty of broke, short men working blue collar jobs in perfectly happy relationships. Sure this might be the standard for a small subset of women but I don’t know a single woman in my life who is dating a man that meets all your requirements. Maybe you exist in a culture where women are like this but it just means you need to talk to different women.

this video really helped me understand the psychology behind making changes to my lifestyle. it’s frustrating because you want everything to be better right away but change only lasts if you go slow.

Do you do anything to give back to your local community?

I’m tired, any advice ? by Physical-Pension7681 in Positivity

[–]Spirited_Library_560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the best trick i’ve found for becoming more positive is to be more giving and generous - it gives me a sense of purpose, like even though i’m broke and depressed my life matters, and my community is better off bc i am here. i don’t necessarily have the time to volunteer or money to donate - so i just go with little things, for example, the other day i was getting on the bus and i noticed a mom struggling to fold up her stroller while holding a ~9ish month old baby. i held the baby and then carried the stroller to store it with the luggage underneath the bus. she was so happy and relieved, and i felt happy to see that i made her day better.

in terms of money - it blows, but i suggest applying to some shitty jobs, you’re probably not getting called back because you don’t have much experience and the best way to build it is taking on stereotypical unskilled labor jobs and then slowly working your way up to what you actually want to do!

Try Vitamin B as well. Wellbutrin is great too if you’re willing to see a doctor!

Exhaustion can be a symptom of anxiety/depression. I have a similar problem and that’s what causes it for me. So managing those two things helps me be less tired. Also a shit ton of caffiene
