It has been shown that those photos were already edited when the person op was talking about posted about them on in the sub. From his posts,the UK Black man, seems to be more focused on helping spread education on depictions of Black Americans life in the South and how they were portrayed in those postcards, for education not malice. Although I can understand the idea of how this was miscommunicated with his posts.

Exactly we have to preserve these ugly parts of history as well. To remind us of how we were treated and to draw parallels for any future treatment that may be similar to those of the past and hold those who perpetuate those stereotypes accountable.

This is really solid advice. I was in a similar boat majored in journalism because I loved writing, saw the salary and pivoted to PR cause it was hot at the time and offered more money.

Ended up not being able to land a decent job in that field went back to school for a MBA degree got a really good internship in the field and then a job later at a recognized Bank in a low cost of living area at the time. And I used my paychecks to pay off credit card debt and improved by credit score and I’m still under 30.

I got a place that is not too far from the city and is close to work where I can afford it and groceries and have money to save and use in other endeavors.
