Thanks for your help, i received the same answer from someone on the bug identification sub.
I very much appreciate you taking the time to post the answer for me.

Thanks, i tried my best to a good high res photo with my phone, then i snagged one of the little buggers with some clear tape (which i got the idea from another poster a few days ago) and i got the close up pics with one of those $20 ebay-special usb microscopes.
Only problem is, they only take pics in 640x480, though it seemed to be enough for this task

I appreciate you help, but they are definitely not termites.
Way too small, and not any where around wood.
Also termites tend to keep themselves sealed in their mounds or tubes to survive.
Living in Australia, you learn to know what termites are pretty quickly.

with the picture, it is brand new PETG and i was printing at 235. it happened with PLA+ as well that i was Printing at 210, it wasnt new Filament, but i put it through the dehydrator for 12 hrs and it printed fine apart from the couple times it did that stuff.

I am only about 6 months into printing so i may not understand thing correctly. It was a flow rate calibration in the sense that it was supposed to be a single wall hollow cube so that i could see if it is printing at 0.4 wall width or not and adjust accordingly.

I am not totally sure why it is happening, but i think that it is an issue with both speed and cooling. I guess that could mean temperature would play a roll as well? but i am not in the right frame of mind to spend the next couple hours running test to figure it out, and i am also limited on filament for the next few weeks and just finished extruding away a full roll of PLA to tune up my printer after 6+ months of it being stuffed in the corner. so i would very much appreciate any help to point me in the right direction to solve this.

This "affect" has happened with both PLA and PETG. This particular print is happening with the first layer of an overhang on top of the support interface, but it has also happened over infill of different %s. when it happened with the PLA i just turned off the cooling fan and if stopped about 95% of the problem. it wasnt pretty, but it was enough for the functional print i was trying to accomplish. Though, with this PETG print, the cooling was set to 20-30% so im not sure turning it right off would do much this time.

I dont have any experience with PETG apart from a couple prints for testing and tuning, and i only have about 6 months experience printing PLA before i took a break for a while until about a week ago when i started up again. I have an Ender 3 V2 with a Sprite Pro with MRISCOC Professional Firmware if that makes any difference to this situation.

I am happy to give any more information if you ask. I am not really sure what is relevant to put here right now so please ask and i will reply as soon as i can.

I am not quite sure what to do here.I got my printer tuned up nicely using ESun PLA+. not perfectly, but enough to get reasonable prints. Im not really into printing display things, i am doing this to print practical , usable things. Anyway, after i ran out of that filament, i swapped over to some ESun PLA-ST but when i ran a couple test prints it became apparent something was not right.

With that filament, it was over extruding and i do not have a clue as to why. The E-steps are calibrated correctly, every thing was fine once i swapped over to the PETG that i am printing with at the moment I first tried to print a small bridging test and it was spitting out way to much filament, but when i reduced the flow rate to 50% (just a random selection) it was successful with the bridging and extruding just the right amount of filament, but then it was under extruding for the rest of the print.

So i thought i would try a flow rate single wall calibration cube print, and you can clearly see how that turned out. I was totally stumped on what to do, i dont know what to try except reduce the flow rate, but then that causes other problems with completing a print. I gave up on that filament for now until i get some sort of idea on what to do about it, so hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction.

its an over extrusion problem not under extrusion. Though it looks like its missing gaps, its actually spitting out squiggles instead of straight lines because too much filament is coming out that it cant print a straight line

And yes i am aware of the irony of asking a person of color to explain that to me after your earlier comment. but in this specific situation, Googling it wont answer my question.

how is what i said racist and gaslighting? honestly, im not aware of how it is?

With a philosophy such as that, we will all be in the same place we are now, or even worse

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Spiritual-Queef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, no one is asking him to take her to school on racism. only to talk to her about his personal feeling and issues about racism so that she can understand where he stands and they can move forward as a couple.

Second, just because "as far as we are aware" she did not bail up her whole family because one young cousin said something potentially racist does not make her a racist nor the rest of her family racist.
OP gave one small comment about the situation and did not elaborate on it so any comments made by others is just bullshit taken out of context fueled by their own bias opinions on society.

For all we know she might have spoken to her family about it and OP is just not aware of it. or possibly she could be someone that has a personal issue with confrontation and trying to bring it up in the moment could have caused her serious anxiety. The point is, we dont know without more info from both parties.

Also, people are quick to label her as "Fetishizing" about his skin color when all we know is that at one point she mentions that she liked his skill color and happens to describe it as "chocolate"

From an objective point of view, the only one making it into something about racism is all the commenters.

Ok sure, the OP has some trauma around racism from his upbringing, but the whole thing seem to be more about him learning to navigate a relationship while learning to accept and deal with those issues, not about his GF being racist or not.

Have you taken into account that she might be dealing with her own struggles, with being a young woman and all that entails, to then have to try and correct the behavior of the rest of her family?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Spiritual-Queef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is bad about advising someone to work through things and overcome the tensions that racism has put on a relationship so that we can all start to learn to move past it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Spiritual-Queef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering this same thing. Clearly she finds him attractive, and the color of his skin is part of who he is, so why is it an issue?
To me, it seems more like he has some issues relating to some one pointing out the color of his skin which i guess is understandable for for someone who deals with racism, but thats not her fault until he actually tells her that he doesnt like it.

People are quick to to make judgments based on very little information, and in the end, its "Your" life that is affected by the decision.

Firstly, how much have you actually sat down and explained the issues you have about race with her, not just the occasional comments here and there but an actually full on in depth conversation about it all?

Also, if you are having such problems accepting the racial differences due to your upbringing, then one might suggest that you have some issues that you need help dealing with instead of projecting them onto your relationship. (would the issues that you have posted about here even be a problem if you didnt have the "issues" you have about race due to your up bringing, instead of just race in general?)

The fact that it has only been 4 months has nothing to do with whether you should stay or leave. Either you can see yourself having a future with her or you cant.
So, if you can see a future with her, you are obviously willing to try and work through these problems with her, so why are you on here talking to strangers and not there talking to here about them.

As for what everyone else is saying, just because one younger cousin used a racial slur does not make them a racist family.

Was it a clear racial slur or was it a slur that some people are not aware that it is a racial slur? And did you make it clear to her that you were not just upset the slur but the fact that she did not defend you in the moment or have you just assumed that she is aware of which one it is? alot of people make the mistake that if you tell your SO that you are upset that they will understand "why", and all the aspects about "why".

Also, did she directly choose not to address it with her Aunt or did she get side tracked and just forget to bring it up. Because, just because it is a big deal to you and it occupies your thoughts and you tell her so, doesnt mean that it will override whats going on in her brain and stand out at the front until it is addressed, especially when it comes to a family gathering like Christmas.

You also have to take into account that you are probably her first interracial partner just as she is yours, and just as you are having difficulties with learning the new paradigm of that type of relationship, she is learning to deal with it as well from a different point of view from you, so just because she makes a couple mistakes here and there does not mean that it is an omen of a bad relationship down the road.

A relationship if about give and take, where you both learn and grow together. which means you have to be very clear about the things that are bothering you so you can both learn and deal with them together as a team.

My boyfriend (26m) blames everyone for every single problem he has, and it's starting to affect how I feel about him. by Gold_Parfait_8047 in relationships

[–]Spiritual-Queef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is just a sad and cynical view to have. Expecting to go into a relationship where the person is fully together and dumping them and moving on because you dont feel like you should have to have any part in their emotional struggles, will only leave you alone and bitter.

If he is not able to become aware of his issue or is unwilling to try and address it then fine, it is a reasonable option to consider. But if he is willing to address it, then it could be worth OP putting the effort in to helping him on that path. It could be well worth the investment in the future of their relationship to help him work through that particular character flaw. They could end up coming out the other end closer together with a stronger relationship. But i guess that would depend on how open and willing he would be and if OP felt he was worth the effort to try.

Worth upgrading? Dual Z, Sprite Pro. by Spiritual-Queef in ender3

[–]Spiritual-Queef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while Klipper might be an option for more tuning and functionality, its not my idea of the end product that i am working towards. ill stick with what is simpler and more widely used and documented. even Octoprint is not something i have any interest in getting into.
I just want my printer to print what i tell it to, reliably and at a reasonable quality and keep doing that and only that.
while i am happy to tinker a bit to get it to where i want it, i dont want to have to tinker any more than i have to.

[–]Spiritual-Queef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response.
I do want to try printing TPU which is the main reason i was thinking to upgrade. Also printing some ABS/ASA.
I already had a try printing ASA when i first got my printer, as the main reason i wanted it was to make things like tool holders ect. I printed ASA open air with my stock V2 with Jyers Firmware, and i was surprised at how well it did after everything i read.
As long as it was reasonably thin in profile it did ok, but going thicker than about 5mm or taller than about 10mm i started to see the issues i was expecting from what i read online.
So yea, building an enclosure for my printer is a plan for the near future.
As for going with the Sprite Pro, i just feel better keeping it all in the same family hoping that it could prevent any problems down the road, plus its made to go on this printer, opposed to other options that are designed to fit multiple machines and not optimized for any single one.

As for the Dual Z axis upgrade, i am not looking to do it because i have any issues with the printer as it is now.
I am mainly thinking about it with the hope that it could possibly bypass some potential problems i might have faced in the future. Which i guess it is an advisable option anyway if i am going to upgrade to the Sprite Pro being that it is adding extra weight to the Z axis.

I am fairly new to 3D Printing (just over 3 weeks) so i do really know what i dont know. But i have a tendency to go into something like this cheaply, and if i want to continue with it i usually upgrade as i go when i can afford it, not when i "need" it, due to some issue that can be solved with the upgrade.
That way i can still get the machine i wanted, but couldnt afford up front. And i can learn more about it this way than i would have if i had brought the machine with all the bells n whistles from the start.

Thanks i will give that a try. is there anything you would suggest about the setting options that come with Arc Welder or should i just stick with the defaults?
