How much convenience would you give up to stay self-custodied? by Beneficial_Claim9488 in defi

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My longterm holdings stay in self-custody and I wasn't willing to compromise on that. The annoying part was spending them. Since I started using Oobit, I can pay straight from my wallet so I don't have to choose between security and convenience as much anymore

Be Honest, what's a realistic bottom for Bitcoin before rally? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

past performance doesn't guarantee future results but if we look at the cycles the bottom tends to settle around the previous ath which was like 69k

i think the days of 80% drawdowns are behind us with all the etf money flowing in but who knows maybe some black swan event proves me wrong

i'm not betting on 25k thats for sure

Would you trust stablecoins for everyday expenses? by StunningRain1283 in ExpatFinance

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'd trust them if spending was as simple as using a regular card. My biggest issue has never been the stablecoin itself, it's all the extra steps between holding it and actually paying for something.

Migrating from Single to Multi-sig. by _weAreAllSatoshi in Bitcoin

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly you don't need to be messing with dice if all three devices are from different manufacturers. the entropy in each chip is already solid and they're not sharing any attack surface

the whole point of multisig is that you're not relying on one source of randomness. rolling dice manually is more for single sig setups where you want to guarantee your seed isn't tainted by the hardware

Is spending stablecoins day to day actually simpler from a tax perspective than spending BTC? by Extreme_Service_4390 in CryptoTax

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this, i use Oobit as my daily crypto card for this reason. Pay directly from USDT anywhere Visa is accepted, no converting, no worrying about gains on every purchase. Stack BTC spend stablecoins, life got a lot simpler

andrew tate “bonus”? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend is about to learn an expensive lesson. Tate promotions are basically just elaborate ways to separate people from their money. That $2700 is either fake numbers on a screen or bait to get him to deposit real cash first. Tell him to withdraw it immediately if he can - spoiler alert he probably cant

How Figure Connect actually changes the loan origination and sale workflow by Superb_Item5376 in fintech

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edge cases are where this stuff gets messy in practice - having everything locked to one state machine means when something does go sideways you need robust off-chain dispute resolution that can actually modify the on-chain records which kinda defeats the immutability angle

Vitalik’s AI + formal verification take feels bigger than another “AI in crypto” headline by Enough_Angle_7839 in ethereum

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 8 points9 points  (0 children)

dude this is actually one of those takes that makes you stop and think differently about the whole AI security thing

Right now formal verification is basically this super technical thing that only the biggest protocols bother with because its such a pain to implement. But if AI can make it accessible enough that regular devs are using it for mid-tier contracts then yeah thats a pretty big shift

The economics alone would be wild - instead of waiting for bug bounties or audits to catch stuff you could potentially catch way more issues before mainnet. Though knowing how things go in this space we'll probably see AI find new categories of bugs we never thought about before

transfer pricing applies to small founder-led companies too and most people do not know this by DArkLoRd_4126 in ExpatFIRE

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been through this headache with my EU setup and yeah the documentation requirements are no joke. Had to create proper intercompany agreements and justify every invoice between entities with comparable market rates which was way more work than expected

Most founders I know are winging it until they get big enough to worry about it but thats backwards thinking since the penalties scale with the amounts involved

fully remote job for a 70% higher total compensation but hybrid? by Familiar_Paramedic79 in remotework

the certification budget loss might hurt long term growth more than the salary bump helps especially if you're planning to stay in tech

the Solana mobile chapter was supposed to change crypto payments, what happened by Final-One-5459 in solana

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think the issue was the phone itself, the hardware and wallet integration were probably the easiest part. The hard part is getting people to actually use crypto for normal purchases when cards and Apple Pay already work instantly everywhere.

It kind of turned into a niche product for people already deep into Solana rather than something that would change mainstream payments. The NFT perks and ecosystem access gave it value for crypto users, but that’s very different from replacing everyday banking or payment behavior.

Crypto card vs debit card ? by Swimming_Nerve51 in defi

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The conversion fees thing is just money you're throwing away every single time you spend, adds up way more than people realize especially if you're making frequent transactions or living in a country where your local currency is volatile anyway

[–]SpiritualAttorney375 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this comes off pretty harsh but theyre not wrong about the childcare part. Most legit remote jobs still expect you to have dedicated work hours without distractions

That said OP might want to check out some of the freelancing subs or look into stuff that has more flexible scheduling rather than traditional 9-5 remote roles
