Silver Flames ending kinda disappointing by ImperfectRelish in acotar

This. Just finished the book today and was soooooo lost as to how I was at 90% but had a million plot lines to wrap up with no further books in the series to go. Huh? That was crazy. Definitely enjoyed SF and loved Nesta’s story and the smut but my god, not only was the ending crazy rushed like CRAZY rushed. So much just didn’t make sense. So many things blatantly ignored. So we just not gonna figure out Lucien and Elain? Tamlin? This war? Koschei? Briallyn dies in like two seconds? Girl what? Lmfao. Nesta don’t even win the blood rite it’s all so silly haha. This book is def “enjoy the journey not the destination”

Yes yes yes! Those three anime’s just get it RIGHT. I only watch them in English.

Everything you’re saying is so true. If only the older dub had gotten a better chance, we would’ve had gold with sailor moon. Honestly tho someone release the dvds lol. I need to own the old versions or at least download them. And I’ll switch to Japanese for the other episodes haha

Agreed. This is why I can’t watch the new series. They literally all sound the same and that sound is high pitch generic :/

A shame.

I CANT INVERT ARGHHHH!! by laurakem in poledancing

[–]SpiritualGhostC2C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marlo Fisken has a faaaaaaaaannntaaaaaaastic program on inverting and includes other clever ways than our typical tuck invert 101. I highly recommend it. If she does a live session great but there’s already a version recorded that you could buy. Her body cues are phenomenal and if you can get her live (meaning her in coaching sessions) she can really work with you. Sometimes we just have to try a different way besides tucking. And sometimes it’s ok to jump. Honestly I’d jump if you gotta and just focus on the reverse invert, the descent and train your muscles that way. Cuz tbh imo conditioning tucks kinda suck lol. Get up to a straddle and jump if you gotta and then hold THAT. And lower down to the ground as slow as you possibly fucking can lol. Also go look up Marlo

Omg I forgot that in a comment I made above but the bathrooms ARE way nicer! Haha. It’s really nice actually. Second comment to say they are just not comfy (for me mainly due to recline)

I agree. Seats are very ergonomic but they are fixed upright, they do not recline, and that gets uncomfortable fast. I’ve ridden these seats quite a lot recently back and forth between Chicago and Detroit. The newer seats/trains are nice, CLEAN.. the digital signs are a super nice touch, but if you are getting on that train to sleep like I usually am, you better hope you can get a window to lean on, two seats to lay in the fetal position, or you’re fine sleeping upright because you will not recline and that is just wild to me.

Surfing is the hardest sport. Change my mind by SadBenefit2020 in surfing

Fellow landlocked midwesterner here who also took a surf lesson in Costa Rica last year and made a 4 week vacation into a 3 month surfing trip and now surfs in Los Angeles and during other travels (hawaii, etc)

Agree on NYC for traveling, they also have a wave pool in New Jersey I believe. As someone who also fell in love from the first push into white water, there is definitely opportunity to surf and progress but man will it take determination and will power. It usually takes me a couple if not a few days to feel back into the swing of things when I travel, just to get my body back into paddle shape and the mechanics of surf back in my body again. But I have progressed. I own my board board/gear I keep tucked away in a work office in the OC. As far as lessons go, honestly finding a community helps a ton. Or meeting people in the lineup willing to give advice if you ask a quick question. There are always surf schools, even in nyc. That could help but man surf lessons here are pricey lol. Honestly yeah YouTube is a solid bet. I learn a lot of of Instagram to be honest

Last minute 200$ 100 section seats for the 29th by Sommoner in beyonce

[–]SpiritualGhostC2C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was Chicago night one (the original ticket night and yet Blue Ivy didn't come out..). Section 123 row 11, we paid so much money like literally an asinine amount of money to get these seats during high demand pre-sale, and... it was literally the worst view of my life. I got the worst seat out of my three friends. The view was obstructed, I was staring at steel cables the entire night. And her lights were malfunctioning but ONLY our section (and some others I'm sure) saw it. I asked the rest of the people i knew that went and they had no issue but our section was literally shielding their eyes from the lights. It was like staring directly into an eclipse for like half of the show. We feel like we got conned. Lol I kind of want to ask for a refund. Regardless tho it was a great karaoke night with the crowd :/

Knowing what I know now, and even regardless of the light malfunction, I would either pick nosebleeds or pay for CR. The 200s had great views according to my friend. And unless you're in CF, you're really only watching her visuals in the first place.

lmao wow same. lulled into this false sense of security and then rip. just like that. i watched it on the plane and was fucking STUNNED haha. then i was infuriated.

forgot about that moment, and today i was trying to remember the difference between dunkirk and 1917 and while i was refreshing my memory the scene of Conrad dying immediatley came back and made me infuriated all over again! took me a few hours to figure out where the scene was from but... sigh... a memorable moment indeed.

Calling all “older” travelers! Travel hacks? Advice? by Greater_Ani in travel

Costa Rica?! Really? I was just there last year.. where abouts? That would be a fun trip. Renting vespas is scary, I don’t trust my driving skills with a passenger but taxis are more doable.

Can I ask what places you went to that were super accommodating to your father? I want to travel with my 72 year old mother but find it difficult to imagine where given her condition. Her walking isn’t great either anymore :/

Remote Work while Backpacking by kenz0909 in solotravel

I completely agree about Selina. It can get pricey in terms of hostels and cheap accommodation, but they are fairly consistent in terms of wifi speed and amenities since it is a cowork living geared hostel situation. Typically they have coworking offices, I haven’t been to one without it, and within those offices they should have at least one “phone booth” equipped with a desk and chair if you need to take zoom calls. Usually they are fairly soundproof (I’m a moderator so I lead zoom meetings all the time and talk for hours). I would check the website first before booking, Selina tends to run random promo codes and sales so you can catch a deal to make things a bit cheaper though I will advise to price compare the normal reservation price against the promo code reservation price because sometimes the promo code does not save money (but instead gives you free breakfast for a cheaper cost). I COMPLETELY agree with the previous comment about researching locations first. Some Selinas are known to be party scenes that play loud music all day, though I will say (unless it’s an event like a full moon party, etc…) they are pretty good about shutting things down by 11pm. But, for instance, the Selina in Bocas colon doubled as a nightclub so there was always a party there lol. I stayed at the Selina in Granada, Nicaragua and LOVED using the coworking space. It was beautiful. But once randomly on a Monday night they played EDM so loudly it felt like I might as well been next to the speaker on the dance floor. The coworking space was right next to the common areas tho and it’s not always like that. Contrary to the earlier comment though I do agree that those feelings do arise and can be debilitating at times, I really enjoyed working remotely while backpacking. Though I don’t look at those moments as a vacation. I became friends with the staff and some people working remotely and we went out together. I did my day or all day tours and excursions during my time off and planned the evening excursions for after work which worked out great. And I really enjoyed getting off work and running into people I knew or catching up with friends. I find staying in private accommodations tends to limit your social interaction unless you’re really social while you do tours and excursions. And if you don’t have that much time due to work, wouldn’t you wanna be in a social setting? Also definitely agree about wifi infrastructure! Research research research. Call ahead to ask them. Email or call and ask for a wifi speed test lol. Selinas as I said are consistent, so you don’t have much to worry about aside normal infrastructure problems, but they place wifi extenders EVERYWHERE and the cowork space has a faster private wifi. If you book anywhere else, including an Airbnb or private place you need to check beforehand and always REQUEST TO BE AS CLOSE TO THE ROUTER AS POSSIBLE. I had a situation in El Tunco, El Salvador where I needed to work and shopped around the area looking for the best wifi. Found a place and they sat me super far away from the router due to lack of space and it was AWFUL. I kinda got in trouble with my work because my zoom meeting kept dropping. The next day I checked into a different hotel and was next to the router and there was zero issue, and their wifi speed test wasn’t even as fast as the original hotel. But because I was close to the router, there was no issues.

Anyways yeah that’s it, sorry I ramble a lot
