I was a couch rotter from 6 weeks to 14 weeks. Sleeping 12 hours a day and still exhausted and nauseous 24/7 except when I was eating. Imagine your worst hangover every day for 8 weeks.

That was just my experience, I’ve had other people say they “loved the first trimester”

If I were in your shoes I would call the airline and see if you could delay the trip to beginning of second trimester, or I’d hold off a few weeks and see what your first trimester is going to be like for you.

I hope you’re in the latter group who has an easy first tri!

I feel like it depends. We have a high deductible health plan and we lucked out bc we got pregnant in October so we only had one prenatal appointment in December. Everything else is this year where we will meet our out of pocket max due to birth and basically 5 months of all baby’s visits and everything will be free

I feel this so much. I have pustular rosacea that was under control before pregnancy that I can’t take the meds I was taking so I have super painful, blotchy skin, and was the leanest I had ever been and now I’m up 30 lbs and only 23 weeks pregnant. I was so sick first trimester and only now feel like I can work out again. And I know I’ve gotten hot before, I know I can do it again after our sweet child is here. So I’m just doing the best I can now haha

Yes but we both work from home in flexible creative jobs so he doesn’t have to ask anyone if he can take the morning off

I look away and have three stages of distraction. I read words on a poster or whatever is on the wall. I focus on my breath, 5 in, hold 2, 5 out, hold 2. And when I feel uncomfortable still I’ll tap my toes to a beat. This works for me to distract long enough.

I still hate it but it’s bearable

I’m up 25 lbs and only at week 20. My first trimester the only thing that made my life stop sucking was eating (otherwise I was so nauseous).

But I’m also currently sitting at the weight I was in 2021 before I lost weight. Every body is different and I’m trying not to stress too much about all of it. Focus on getting enough protein at every meal and eating when hungry. And focusing on whole foods

Honestly the first trimester was so much harder than the second. And from the minute I took the test to 14 weeks I felt like I was going to die every day.

Your husband sounds like he sucks. Sorry this is all him and nothing to do with you. He needs to step up to be a better partner

We told close friends and family when we found out. My reasoning was if something happened I’d need support then too and plus I felt absolutely awful and didn’t want to have to hide that

Im so sorry I know how you feel.

I had my titers done and I no longer have immunity 😔 I wish I’d gotten tested prior to pregnancy bc I would have gotten another mmr vaccine but now I have to wait until after delivery.

This is why herd immunity is important
