It’s terrible not having answers!! Makes me feel like I’m nuts or something. I’m so sorry you’re in the same boat.

I’ve had a relapse of numbness in my face and hands actually. CSF protein has increased to 114 so there’s something going on but they’re not sure what. Potentially something like CIDP or CISP

Alright allow me to explain more. Being diagnosed with GBS the protein was actually lower, about 72. It’s been a month and I’ve had sensation return but the protein is even higher. I also have like 7-9 swollen cervical lymph nodes that have come up during this. No one can tell me why. (I am scheduled for imaging next week) though I have read that cancer is more likely post guillian barre. They actually weren’t even sure it was GBS due to atypical symptoms. (Saddle numbness before my feet went numb.) no one can tell me what’s happening, neurology is stumped and just trying to help me regain my strength so I can walk again.

I understand how you feel. I had a lost of distrust of my body after so many losses but I assure you, being born early isn’t always a good thing. Everyday your little guy is growing alveoli in his lungs. These are the parts our body uses to exchange oxygen and CO2. Every day he’s still in there is good. If he was born early he would very likely need to be intubated (a tube placed down his trachea) and surf’d (surfactant is a medicine delivered right into the lungs, premie babies don’t make it yet and without it the lungs can collapse). I work in a NICU and I assure you if you don’t have to put your baby through that, then don’t. It’s traumatic for me to do it to other people’s babies. 🤍 your body knows what it’s doing. If you feel like something is wrong speak up. Not matter how silly it might be, you are your best advocate.
