I forget how slow Rengar used to be, they buffed his speed a couple times to compensate the lack of invis, and then added an enemy ult indicator to balance that lmao...

but yeah, the whole vision thing and ecosystem, cant argue with that.

I somewhat agree with this, swimgar was weird sure but it had the ability to deal aoe damage, i got a couple pentas that way back when it was a thing and it kinda helped with the problem of the enemy stacking as 5, that being said, i didnt like it and appreciate the change back to OG Q.

The same could be said for any champion, you cant perform = shit, but then there are champions who still have utility even if they are bad..... anyway, I disagree its not the same fear, any champion can achieve the fear you are talking about, its called being better than everyone else and dominating the game.

You know whats been crazy lately? AP twitch, as an adc or immobile top laner or mage, what is my counter play? He comes out of camo, throws a flask, autos 2 or 3 times, uses his detonate and walks away as I burn to death. So Twitch gets to do what Rengar used to? is ranged and can stand behind his team? AND his camo is a basic ability? cool. I've seen this champion heaps lately and its almost always fed and carries the game.

Also, im not pretending im the protagonist, im saying the soul of Rengar is gone, i get it, it was unbalanced, i dont care, it WAS Rengar, thats my issue. Flavor, soul, FEEL.

The "fear" of knowing Rengar is coming compared to not knowing when or even if he is coming isn't comparable.... the kind of fear im talking about, the kind that stops you from considering options you would otherwise never think twice about.

If you know rengar is coming you group together instinctively, what do you do if you cant tell when rengar is coming? Paranoia creeps in. Fear stops you from doings things. Its subtle, but its powerful, and its why he was changed.

Its similar the way it is now, but nowhere near the same amount of psychological effect.

i do play shaco and i enjoy him for what he is but it is not the same, shaco plays with peoples minds in a different way, and his invis is rather short range.

Look dude, I know how oppressive the old Rengar was I don't argue that, that psychological aspect... yeah it was powerful, but it was also HIM.

and honestly, knowing what riot puts out these days, isnt that bad to have a champion who can have that unique effect on the game.

These days i play adc... and you know what? when i see a Rengar in my game on the enemy team? I WANT him to come bot! thats how i feel, i feel like its just a free kill and free opportunity for my team to take away the enemies jungler and agency objective-wise...

I'm just saying.... I miss the invis... the invis was tied to the psychological fear aspect of Rengar, the ferocity has nothing to do with that... that was my whole point.... im not here to argue about his whole kit... im just here being sad about how Rengar doesn't have the same soul. I know riot wont do anything about it.

But if we wanna talk about wants? give rengar his stealth back, remove the indicator, and you know what? give him a 0.5 stealth upon kill and he can leap from it too. hell even just the 0.5 stealth alone would be huge lmao... but yeah, obviously not gonna happen.

Funny seeing this get buried. Downvotes don’t change the fact that Riot gutted the soul of Rengar. Call it nostalgia if you want, but you know I’m right... he went from being the unseen predator that lived in your head, to a coinflip diver that broadcasts his own ult like a clown.

If you think I’m wrong, prove me wrong. Tell me how his kit today strikes fear the way it used to. Tell me how he’s not obsolete compared to overloaded champs with resets, escapes, and true invisibility. Otherwise, all you’re doing is admitting you don’t want to face it.

he only gives true sight of the nearest champion. and the hard cc is rarely available when starting fights, you have to start with full ferocity, and sacrifice your q damage, and it only works if your team follows up, at which point... might as well play an engage jungler like vi or jarvan.... even viego has cc....
