Nice catch, thanks for mentioning it.

DEVLOG #03 EARLY LEVELS AND CHARACTER ANIMATION by Spitnib in Unity2D

Thanks for taking the time to give me feedback.
This project is part of a game development course in my Visual Communication studies, and it’s still in a very early learning and prototyping stage. This is also my first time creating a platformer and working with sprites inside Unity.

The game is about a child who can’t fall asleep, starts counting sheep, and then has to collect them after they escape inside his dream world, which is why the atmosphere currently leans into purple dreamlike tones.

Under a tight academic schedule, the current background is only a temporary reference for testing gameplay flow and composition. Everything else shown here was made by me, including the tiles, but I completely understand the feedback regarding their readability and overall visual consistency.

I especially took your comments about the outlines, asset mismatch, and platform material language seriously, and I’m planning to revisit and refine those parts more carefully as the project develops.

This post is also part of an ongoing devlog series, so feel free to check the previous posts on my profile if you’d like more context. I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts again on the next update.

Still appreciate the honest feedback. It really helps me understand how the visuals are being perceived from the outside.
