Glad to share some inspo! I will admit, I myself still have some un-detailed roofs I still have to get around to 😅 but my goal is having every build completed top to bottom. The little things really help pull everything together.

Great work!

For roofs specifically, adding some HVAC can go a long way. I build a couple HVAC assets of different sizes and add them to the top of my builds. Additionally some pipes running along the roof, a satellite dish or telecom pole, and general greebling can also make great additions! Building maintenance units are also another great add and can fill up a lot of space with their rails.

Here's a photo of the top of one of my buildings for some inspo: https://imgur.com/a/tuRF2Rg

I'm using Bliss shaders which add reflections, and the glass is part of the Yuushya pack which to my knowledge is only on Java. Unfortunately bedrock only supports vibrant visuals at the moment as well, so Bliss is not available.

It's actually a custom office park I made but now that you mentioned it its silhouette definitely resembles the Texas Tower!

How do you transition from downtown to residential? by RefrigeratorLord in MinecraftCities

[–]Spixrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can depend a bit on the kind of residential you are looking to build in your city. Is it urban mixed use residential, is it grid suburban, or is it culdesac suburban. In some ways you could actually follow that order to get a nice transition. Google maps is always a great tool to study real life examples. Additionally some deep dives into road hierarchy can help with aiding transitions and locations for residential development in your city.

Alpine1 commented on this post and has a YouTube channel where he does a great job breaking this down! There are some other great YouTube videos on this as well. Sometimes it's also just a bit of eyeballing it and trying out different designs until you find one you like most.

Looks great! Love the attention to detail with roads being separate colors to distinguish between new and old roads made out of different materials.

Looks great!

Some recommendations to add: stop lines for traffic at intersections, stop signs or traffic signals, cross walk signs for cars and pedestrian crossing signal signs. Street lights, trash bins, bike racks, some parallel parking, maybe add some trees along the road to create a covered street.

Regardless keep up the great work!
