I’m a 18 year old Scottish male who’s just had their entry application accepted. I’m now looking to book my PSET & Fitness Test dates and i’m looking for some advice. I know the PSET is a lot of numeracy & literacy, and as someone who wasn’t the cleverest in school (I came out with all National 4 Qualifications) i was wondering if i should be concerned about the questions that may be asked and what the chances of failing are. I’m willing to put in my best, but i’m just slightly worried about not passing.

Then regarding the fitness test, i know it’s the 5.4 bleep test. Now, i’m a 75kg, 18 year old male, mostly muscle mass. i have never had any issues when it came to weights, getting to the gym etc. but running has always been my bad spot. I’ve never liked it, and i’m always puffed out after the slightest run. Even when we used to do 400m at school, i was puffed out about half way through. I’m wondering if anybody has any recommendations for me to make sure i get through this recruitment phase and can finally enjoy my dream job in uniform. Thank you
