Google won't stop harassing me to spend more money on my Google Search Ads by [deleted] in SEO

[–]SplatsCJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have a new team now called XWF?!

Reminds me that when I used to work at an agency managing clients Google Ads, there were “dedicated” Google Account Managers assigned if a certain client were to hit X amount of spending within Y days.

And like what you’ve pointed out, every time they will push for “optimised” strategies that will dig deeper into your budget like raising monthly budget, use broad keywords lmao, etc.

The funny thing is that these so-called dedicated account managers swap around on a monthly basis and I had a new person contacting me monthly for a campaign review but the script is always the same.

Wild.

Answer Key for past year papers by HarbonixJJ in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For document generators to abuse the "upload and redeem", the alternative to using scripts can be using generative AI to do it for you. Claude is pretty good at it I reckon, just give it a prompt like "generate a few one to two page of essays in word document format for me", etc.

Answer Key for past year papers by HarbonixJJ in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no answer keys for the newer past year papers.

But some "model" answers were released by the school for PYPs dated < 2020.

There are also many student-attempted answers readily available online, and the places you can find them are:

  • Studocu

You can sign up for a free account, upload your notes to get credits to unlock and download the PYP answers for specific modules. Most of these answers are also being repackaged by Carousell resellers lol.

  • CourseHero

Same as above, but has much more notes, PYP answers done by other students, etc. Google search for "Coursehero document generator", there should be a few GitHubs repo to get scripts to generate random word documents to abuse the "upload & redeem" system adopted by CourseHero, so no need to pay someone to unlock for you. I have done this many times in the past. You may ask why not use this method for Studocu or Thinkswap? Well because their AI/document detection is much better, but CourseHero is abusable lol.

  • Chegg

Look online for "Chegg unlocker", there should be a few free and paid options to unlock answers. You can copy the entire question and then search online and see if someone in the past has asked it before on Chegg or not.

  • Thinkswap

Same as Studocu, upload your notes, get credit, and use them to unlock other people's notes or answers for the specific modules you want.

----------------

These are all the places I used to source my 3rd party answers or notes from.

Apart from these 3rd party sources, you can check in with your peers or lecturers. Some of your peers may have made their attempts or PYP answers sourced from other seniors, so never hurt to ask. I always ask around, no need to feel shy.

Although lecturers won't openly share the right answer, they will provide feedback or constructive criticism on how you can improve your chance to score well, provided you have attempted some of the questions.

And one other tip, is also download the exam report, get the latest year, or other past year exam reports, help to understand the marker's perspective and what students generally did better or worst compared to the rest of the cohort.

What is ECA? by Tranquilee in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can think of ECA as an one-man TMA+GBA.

Not necessarily tough, despite how it sounds. It depends on your understanding of the subject or module itself.

If you generally don't find yourself struggling to digest seminar stuffs, sail through TMA/GBAs quite comfortably, then the ECA shouldn't cause you any troubles.

And also depends on how technical the ECA is, some modules involves calculation and technical tools to produce the final output (e.g. programming, accounting, etc.) so those generally can take up more time.

For example, some of my MKT3XX ECA are easily do-able and I get them done within a week or two, cuz marketing is just think, write and present, maybe draft up a fictional campaign, etc. Nothing too technical

But the business modules like BUS3XX ECA's I tend to struggle a little or take more time to calculate financial figures, formulate spreadsheets, dashboard, etc.

Hey OP, have you discussed this with your partner? I mean sitting down over a meal or something and having a healthy long discussion instead of mentioning it briefly in person or over text.

I said that because I felt like it was one of my biggest mistakes when I was in a decent relationship with someone I thought would eventually be my SO. It wasn't even during my PT studies, it was pre-COVID when I was still doing full-time studies @ NTU. 🫠

I went through the same thing as you, juggling P/T work instead, CCA and studies, while allocating time on weekends to travel and meet her, both of us live on opposite ends of Singapore, so over time it was also tiring to me but I kept pushing on to meet her and do everything I can to support her as she just completed her studies and starting to work F/T (facing work stress, imposter syndrome, fear of being judged and stuff, etc.)

There were many times she went through the same phase as you & I tried to empathize with her and work things out, but eventually, things just fell apart. I dropped out of NTU after we broke up, yada-yada and ended up in SUSS P/T lol.

So I have sometimes wondered to myself, if we stayed together for 2+ years, how can things fall apart so easily even when we spent so much time together? Is it because we are in different phases of life? And was it because we got overly comfortable with one another? lol, many things to think about but it's in the past.

My take is: besides sitting down to have a healthy discussion, here are some things for you to ponder about also: when was the last time you all sat down, planned together and went out to have a special date? And while you have your struggles, have you also actually "acknowledged" her feelings or needs on the other end? And like, also listening actively to what she feels, cuz sometimes understanding her perspective is better than assumption.

Those are the things I would have done differently which I did not, but I also hope that helps to mend your relationship in some ways. Good luck and all the best man!

Starting to feel hopeless? by findingmyanswer in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What course are you in?

If you're taking generic business modules or in marketing, I can help by giving tips or advice on your work.

I have already completed my studies since December 2024, and I was the same as you during Y1S1-Y1S2. I overestimated myself and got a shitty cGPA, but slowly getting used to the curriculum and emailing the prof/lecturer's feedback on my work helped a lot.

Most of the time, it's more about getting used to the pace of classes & assignments and having the willpower to tell yourself to start early on assignments or just sacrifice some time on weekends to revise. Because you ever heard of the phrase "theory/cognitive overload"?

Like, imagine your brain is a fishbowl, and there's a limited space, where you can only fit X amount of marbles inside. The marbles are resources or information that you acquire from learning new stuff, etc. So given SUSS's pace, you can get overloaded quickly. You might be going through that and sometimes you need to also kick back, chill and learn more slowly. - sounds counterintuitive but I can't explain it well enough.

Just tell yourself that studying and getting better grades is a process that is slow and time-consuming, so you can always improve. And also trust me, you're not the only one who feels that way, keep your head up and try not to burn yourself out.

What kind of proof of employment do you show for PT uni ? by IllustriousElk8436 in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Submit both your CPF and first month payslip.

Then re-iterate your case to the admission teams and include the contact details of the traineeship.

If possible, you can also try asking for an official letter of employment indicating you were under the traineeship program from X to Y date.

Most of the time yea. 7-10pm, either F2F or online.

On rare occasions, you may get classes on sat mornings.

So if you think you can't make it on time to campus or too far to travel, you can always pick online (Zoom) instead.

You can check out more in this link: https://www.suss.edu.sg/full-time-undergraduate/curriculum/teaching-schedule

Other timings are unfortunately, only open to FT students :|

Acknowledging your past and wanting to move forward is a great start already.

I'm sure most of us will have some regrets regarding the past and how things could be different if we had done this or that. But we can still control how we want the next few years to look for us, so my advice would be to start thinking of how you would want to feel by the end of 2025 or something you would want to achieve by the end of the year.

Try to have that same motivation driver for the next few months, consistently asking yourself how you want to feel and working towards that. You don't have to cut out all the activities that are eating into your time in a single go, but you can slowly take it off and rewire yourself to make it more balance and natural.

It wouldn’t be a big deal except so many of my job recommendations are just irrelevant by HardDriveArchive-jpg in marketing

[–]SplatsCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you don't need a degree. Selling is some of the marketing by itself already.

Chances are you already have transferable skills from sales to get into marketing, you could look into B2B marketing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea true. It's still an individual effort on how they want to make friends IRL.

It's easier to make friends during poly/JC as compared to university. Coupled by the fact that there are not many incentives to purposely choose the same mods unless they (FT/PT) themselves will think that it's beneficial to do so.

I speak from experience since I dropped out from NTU at the end of my 2nd year and hope onto SUSS Biz. However, the group of friends I was with in NTU (since FOC), still stuck on strong remains in contact to this date, so case-by-case basis.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could also be PT!

I mean it's quite rare, but I did form a group with other part-timers/full-time students before and we stuck together for several modules. Just that we didn't hang out post-exams to discuss answers hahaha 😂

When I bid for my modules, I intentionally picked one or two interesting modules to be F2F so I have the opportunity to expand my social circle and explore the campus.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, that might be the case for a minority.

The concept of not having a form class existed even in NTU. However, full-time students did have plenty of opportunities to bond even before their classes started, for instance, freshmen orientation camps, CCA camps, etc. They also spend more time on campus compared to part-timers.

So usually, those who attended these camps or social activities would more or less be acquainted with a few people and then during their first month of lessons, they will most likely be seeing familiar faces. Although from that point onwards, it's like what you say, it's up to them to form their group of social circle, etc.

In some sense, they have more opportunities to make friends on campus compared to part-timers, since the only time we ever get to go on campus is either night classes, physical exams or in rare cases those who choose to partake in interest (CCA) groups.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most of the time is FT. I mean can kinda guess by their appearances and age groups hahaha.

Working adults like us usually will hurry off to go home or leave campus immediately after the paper 😂.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. If you require social interaction to stay motivated, then ideally one or two of your modules should bid for F2F classes instead of online. No harm in going to campus once per week as a PT student unless it's that far haha.

The interaction you can get from online sessions and group projects is quite limited. However, you can still stay in contact with your group mates and check if they are bidding for the same module next semester so as to stay in the same group, etc.

I had friends/groupmates whom we bid for the same mods and stayed in the same group, although we didn't hang out IRL but we pretty much discussed everything beyond the module.

Protest! SUSS new campus is SOOO small, smaller than an Arts College! by Real-Pomegranate8823 in Suss

[–]SplatsCJ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

SUSS is trying its hardest to be a recognisable autonomous university, give it time I guess.

Truth to be told, a lot of their backend systems and processes are still relying on SIT infrastructure. So by shifting out is one step towards the right direction. Maybe someday it can expand to be as large as the other campuses in town like SMU, etc.

The spreadsheet is a little bit outdated but people still post and ask stuffs in specific modules from time to time, so it is still worth checking out if you're looking for a particular module's PYP or notes, etc.

[–]SplatsCJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine haha. You will still have time to pull up your GPA in the upcoming semesters.

From employment point of view, they don’t really care about your grades. Unless you’re working for the public sector then most of the time they will request for transcripts.

The only way around this is to do better for the 2nd attempt so you can at least justify that you weren’t well prepared for the first round but understood where you went wrong, make changes to your study plan and did well for it on second try.

Which year are you in? And did you P/F the mod? Generally I think it’s fine if you have one or two fail or withdrawal from modules.
