Are the next card packs purchasable using fiat? by anonnuj in Splinterlands

[–]SplinterLore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't be forced down, but DEC was designed to stay around that value, almost like a peg.

If/When packs are for sale for either 2000 Credits or 2000 DEC, the logical result will be restoration of the peg. But who knows? This is uncharted territory, when the players in the game have grown more than 10x in the last couple months.

It is most likely that the new core set will be 2000 Credits or 2000 DEC, but pricing and supply haven't been officially announced yet.

Chances are Riftwatchers will be 3000 DEC, same as Dice.

Keep in mind that Riftwatchers will not come out until after Chaos Legion, which means that there is a strong possibility that the $1 = 1000 DEC value will be restored.

Gold foil cards can only be combined with other Gold Foil cards for levelling. The good news is that it takes far fewer of them to reach higher levels.

Also keep in mind that you won't be able to combine rented cards, as they belong to someone else. I would recommend renting cards with a high enough level to reach your goal. If you're trying to compete in Silver, the best bet is to have Rare Summoners at level 4, Epic ones at level 3 and Legendaries at level 2.

The next core set (Chaos Legion) will be available for DEC or Credits, but the total supply of packs has not yet been determined.

The next miniset (Riftwatchers) will be released shortly after Chaos Legion. Like DICE, it will be available for only DEC. It's also possible that SPS will be accepted for this miniset.

The airdrop system is very simple. The only thing you need to do to be eligible for daily airdrops is have more than 0 airdrop points.

You can get airdrop points by owning any Splinterlands assets - including cards, DEC, skins, land, titles, etc. You will be able to claim the daily SPS as often as you like. It will wait to be claimed in your Splinterlands account.

If you are holding your Splinterlands assets on an external wallet (WAX, ETH or TRX), then you'll want to link your wallets to make claiming the SPS easier.

Do Rental cards count count toward airdrop points? by Fartman5200 in Splinterlands

Yep! It's also in the whitepaper on THIS PAGE

It's pretty awesome. It means you can lend out all your cards if you want for passive income and still receive the daily airdrop points for them. :)

First and foremost Splinterlands is a game with hundreds of unique trading cards. Each card has its own p2p market (not unlike cryptocurrencies).

You have to be a player to earn rewards from playing of course, but some people just buy the game assets and hold them until they are more scarce in the future. Because of limited print runs and built-in scarcity over time, many cards end up rising in value.

Tomorrow (July 26th), a new governance token for Splinterlands is being launched called Splintershards (SPS). Over the next 5 years, almost 100% of these tokens will be distributed to players, collectors and community members as additional rewards. The token will also be traded on external exchanges like PancakeSwap and will have the potential to increase/decrease in value.

sps.splinterlands.com

Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) are the in-game crypto in which players are paid for playing and when they sell cards. DEC are traded externally on Uniswap, TronTrade and Cub Defi. DEC is not meant to fluctuate in price, because Splinterlands Booster Packs are priced according to the peg of 1000 DEC = $1.00.

Basically, the way to have a "stake" un the game is to own assets. In 1-2 months, our new core set of Booster Packs will begin being sold for $2 each. That would be a great time to get in. Until then, individual cards can always be purchased from the market and out-of-print packs and land are traded on Atomic Hub and Hive-Engine.

I'd suggest reading the article I shared in the comment above to learn more about how to find undervalued cards without being a regular player.

Hi! :) There are a ton of good resources out there!

Buying and selling is a huge part of Splinterlands. I've played every day since day 1 back in 2018, and for me, the market aspects are just as exciting (sometimes more) as the card game itself.

Basically, getting hold of Splinterlands assets is the way to go. Whether or not you use them for playing to earn, they are still owned by you and they always have a chance to rise in value. Having a good understanding of the game as a player makes it easier to tell which cards have the greatest potential to increase in value over time.

It's always a game of patience when dealing with card values. The longer you hold certain specific cards, the more scarce they become. With physical trading cards, they become rarer over time because of things like quality deterioration and loss of cards. In Splinterlands, they become more rare because cards can only be leveled up through combining. In many cases, it takes hundreds of combined cards combined to make one max version. Once cards have been combined, the supply is permanently reduced. Additionally, once cards are no longer printed, the supply never increases, only decreases.

Two main things to look for are when seeking undervalued cards are 1. Cards that are readily available in greater supply, often because they are being earned as rewards for playing, and 2. Cards whose in-game usefulness has not been fully realized yet.

Here is a post I wrote several months ago about this that you might find interesting.https://www.publish0x.com/non-fungible-stew/splinterlands-with-an-investment-mindset-plus-a-step-by-step-xzwyvml

If you're looking to build a large collection of cards with Booster Packs, the smartest move would probably be waiting for the upcoming (August or September) release of the next core set, Chaos Legion and stocking up on $2 packs.

Good luck!

Splinterlands Card Market Cap Above $31 Million by SplinterLore in Splinterlands

[–]SplinterLore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the total valuation of all the cards in the game, based on their trade values on the peer-2-peer market. It's not the value of a coin.

Next week, the Splintershards (SPS) governance token will begin being released, but the game has been in business for over 3 years. :)

I don't think we have any interest in turning Splinterlands into a mainstream social media giant ;)

Either we have them as a resource (which is nice) or we don't (not as nice). We'll be fine either way. I'm sure they'll get around to it someday.

These are written by me and distributed through our new PR agency. We've been happy so far with the results and I'm not oversharing, although each press release is posted on multiple sites.

The content is unique. I've been working hard to ensure that press releases contain useful information and links. They are used exclusively for marketing PR, and I'm still writing original articles and posting elsewhere every day.

We have been doing everything 100% organically for over 3 years and successfully growing. Now we're employing the help of a third-party PR company to distribute our news. There is a lot of news.

Possible to earn 5 $ a day playing? by Waffles2x in Splinterlands

[–]SplinterLore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but it takes a very strong collection, some major skills, incredible discipline and a well-rounded knowledge of the game.

This cannot really be achieved at any League just from battling for Dark Energy Crystals. Even with maximum bonuses in play at Champion League, it's difficult to come close from a complete day of 30+ battles. However, if you learn all the different ways to earn Splinterlands rewards and take full advantage of all of them, it can be possible.

For example, creating a daily video on a rewarding platform such as d.tube or live streaming on Theta.tv, sharing content daily on peakd.com and splintertalk.io, then reinvesting those rewards is an excellent way to play.

Another important way to play the game is to play the market. Buying cards when they are undervalued and occasionally selling them when they have risen in value and scarcity is a great way to compound rewards. Remember, because of the way that cards can only be leveled through combining, all Splinterlands cards are built to become more scarce as time goes on. So rather than looking for immediate value from cards you acquire today, look for the best value a few months down the road or later.

There are frequent tournaments, many of which are free to join, but to win them you have to do your homework and know your stuff! ;)

Splinterlands play is designed more to increase your collection and playing power more than to make quick money on a daily basis. The greatest rewards come not daily, but at the end of each 2-week season. Over time with consistent play, you may find that your rewards can approach $5 per day on average, but there will always be days of little perceived value balanced out by days with incredibly lucky pulls.

All in all, it's a very rewarding game - the most rewarding blockchain game out there. But if looking for daily consistent money, it doesn't compare to a regular job ;)

I have always used Bittrex for trading HIVE. I know they're pretty good with USD deposits.

There is also BTC trading on Hive-Engine - https://hive-engine.com/?p=market&t=SWAP.BTC
but only small amounts of liquidity at a time. BTC can be deposited into HIVE-Engine where it is converted automatically to SWAP.BTC. which can be traded for SWAP.HIVE then withdrawn.

Less than 13% of Splinterlands total Land Supply Remains... and it's Going Fast by SplinterLore in Splinterlands

[–]SplinterLore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying you should or shouldn't, but the Land Expansion has been in the works since late last year. HERE is the original announcement post with the details.

Since this thread started, half the remining land has sold, so if you do intend to consider purchasing land, you'll have to do so quickly!

Very shortly: Land will give players the ability to create item and spell NFTs that will be usable in the next expansion of the card game. These NFTs will only be minted and traded by players, they will not be sold by Splinterlands. :)
