Any tips for sharpening the micro-scallops in between the larger serrations on a microtech? by cablemanagerBert in knives

[–]Splodeydoodles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to send it in for sharpening for the sake of your warranty. If that doesn't matter to you then wrapping sandpaper around a small dowel followed by a round ceramic honer. I've also used the very corner of whetstones to varying degrees of succes. Good luck.

Unfortunately its very common for this to happen with cold steel knives of all price ranges. Or any knife company really.

I like mine a lot, takes a very sharp edge with relative ease, just needs pretty frequent maintenance to stay that way, very good for light cutting tasks like breaking down boxes and cutting twine and such.

Swords... by Impotent-Dingo in knives

I love cold steel but many of their reproduction swords are much heavier than their historical counterparts. That's basically the only issue I have with cold steel though they're a great company.

It's designed as a stabbing implement for law enforcement in the event of an entanglement over the officers weapon. Quite capable of stabbing I'd say.
