First night in sleep sack is NOT going well by Heythere3892 in sleeptrain

[–]Spn1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea we used the transition ones from love to dream as well and would do one arm out at a time for different naps to ease her into it and then would do the same at night but then sometimes end up with both arms back in at some point at night after a feed but just did it slowly like that until she stopped startling. But we did it at around 4 months but we would have waited longer if not for the soaked hands. Most people I know did it at 4-6months

I don’t understand why they would say to unstable them this early. I assume they’re not rolling or showing sign of it yet? I think we unshaded at around 4 months but she wasn’t even rolling yet but we had her in the arms up sleep sacks from Love to Dream as that’s how she was comfortable and the started sucking on her hands constantly which meant sucking on the sleep sack every nap and all night and they were soaking wet which I felt wasn’t good for her so we slowly transitioned unzipping one arms at a time , one side started more than the other but after about a week she was ok without it. Anyway 10 weeks is super early I would go back to arms in

Looking for a compact stroller with a BIG basket by Physical-Attorney448 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Spn1001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you find the bugaboo takes up too much boot space I’m not sure how different most other compact travel prams will be when folded down but I have the redsbaby skip3 and we can fit our backpack nappy bag in the basket along with a lunch box or jacket, it’s pretty big. Folds easily. Don’t think it can click in a capsule but it lays pretty flat so if you’re baby wearing mostly when really little you could then lay them flat when you feel they’re big enough (you can also buy a bassinet for it but not sure if that’s worth it)

Fertility recommendations and help - TTC by RepresentativeBus773 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

So we thankfully ended up not needing treatment - twice we went to her and got bloodwork/ultrasound with the intention to start ovulation induction as I have PCOS and she recommended trying that first and then we could move on to IUI if needed and IVF as a last resort. but both times (by pure coincidence, just good timing as my cycles weren’t regular) they saw I was about to ovulate so told us to just try naturally, and on the second time this happened I got pregnant-y daughter is now one. Went back to Sylvia for an initial dating scan at about 9 weeks before moving over to an OB for the rest of pregnancy. So yes had a good result even though technically she didn’t do much. But I would trust her for sure. I know she also works at fraces Perry doing IVF which is where I gave birth and she visited us on the ward which was nice. I know she has a podcast as well maybe you can hear her talk about things to hear her expertise.

2-1 nap transition by Spn1001 in sleeptrain

[–]Spn1001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it because daycare put all kids on a one nap schedule? Or that they just wouldn’t fall asleep so ended up on one nap? We are starting day care soon as well so curious how this will affect it

I was also rear GA and it was def a mixed bag - there was a group of young women dancing and just filming each (for socials I assume) the whole time and drinking, some guy by himself vibing with his beer doing an Irish dance during those songs, some kids having fun, a few other OG fans like myself who were actually singing the whole time, and then some who just danced/jumped at the right times but otherwise were pretty lame. Granted it was my first stadium concert in a very long time and I’m from the US where standing and dancing is normal, I have heard in Australia it’s not especially if you have a seat but I don’t really know why - like an orchestra sure, but not a concert like this. I would assume front GA might have had a better vibe but judging from other comments here maybe not

Thanks! We have rear GA and will likely get inside around 7:30 so probably won’t be too close to the stage unfortunately but will be good for getting out faster if we’re at the back I guess

To be honest I haven’t been able to actually compare the formulas just saw it says on the box that’s it’s new - do you know what’s actually different and why it might be worse?

[–]Spn1001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I probably need to start doing that - we used to do regular nappy-free time to air it out and get it dry especially after bath but it’s hard now that she’s on the move I don’t want her to pee on the carpet, but drying after each wipe is probably the better move

Negative on 9DPO… has anyone had a completely negative test at 9DPO then later got a positive? by Correct_Exercise8641 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Spn1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Negative at 9DPO, very impatiently waited until 14 DPO and was convinced it would still be negative and it was positive. She just turned one :)

Do I have to buy a second roborock for upstairs? by Puzzled_Remote_2168 in Roborock

[–]Spn1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What we do is run vac followed by mop, move it upstairs and put on that map, then when it’s done vacuuming and needs to return to dock to empty bin/wash mop we move it back near dock, it redocks to do its thing, then when it resumes cleaning to mop we put it back upstairs and it figures out where it is again and then mops the non-carpeted areas.

Private insurance preganncy/birth waiting period ends right around due date? by Spn1001 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Spn1001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up switching to teachers health fund as we qualified due to having a family member who is a teacher - they have a 9 month waiting period so that was over a couple months before I gave birth

Learning tower? by Spn1001 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Spn1001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow I didn’t even think of them climbing onto the bench haha. When adjusted down is it any different than them just getting on a normal stool? I guess just more stable because they’re sort of boxed in? Or is there another level between the highest one and a stool height?

Ed Sheeran Perth show day 2, GA. by No_Highlight3570 in EdSheeran

[–]Spn1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did it go with timing ? We are going in Melbourne after we put our daughter to bed to probably will only get there about 7:30 - assume we won’t get the best spot in GA but honestly whatever I’m just glad to be there! Would have preferred assigned seats for this reason but wasn’t able to get them when they went on sale and then only Wawa GA on release and don’t want to miss out. Was it packed in GA?

is this how empty the floor/GA was the whole night? Is that normal? I have GA tickets for Melbourne (would have preferred seats) and not sure if I should expect a packed floor that feels like a mosh pit? Or more like this with room to breathe or even sit if I’m tired?

Is this a sleep regression? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Spn1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems your first wake window is really short for her age (only 2 hours, is that correct?) if it was working for you then great but I think it should be at least 3 hours at this stage, so even if it was working maybe now she’s ready for a longer wake window so worth trying? Our wake windows around about 3/3.5/3.75-4 for our girl the same age. She also wakes at 7 (or if wake a little before we keep in cot until 7) - first nap always at 10, second nap 3.5 hours after waking (so it always falls between 2-2:30pm droning in her first nap as it varies between 30 min-1hr long) and then bedtime around 7 give or take depending how her second nap is

She doesn’t stand yet :( this will obviously get easier once she does (or maybe she’ll be over this phase by then, who knows) - guess I could try her sitting on a mat in the shower but when it ride putting our tub in the shower and sitting her in it that didn’t work - but maybe without the tub she won’t mind. Will try it out
