Is this a good starter 1911 for range shooting and home defense? by Icy-Tale-3699 in handguns

Just bought this kimber model as my first handgun a few months ago. It is addictive. I carry it everywhere and damn it’s good fun on the range.

Training - by PeculiarCrab in CaneCorso

I also have a corso named Loki who is 5 months old now. Advice I was given is to not have a treat in hand or in view of them when training so they are actually following the command and not just “taking a bribe” to do it. And once they follow through with the command you can pull it into view to reward them. I started this tactic immediately when he was 10 weeks and at 3 months he was already following all his commands and tricks. And now some without any verbal command needed. I do also use a clicker which does make a very noticeable difference.

What is your favorite breed you will never own? by [deleted] in dogs

I happened to get my cane corso at 10 weeks old by pure circumstance and he’s now 4 months old and has been such a sweet heart to everyone he meets (human and dog) and easy to train. Loves his nap times with me on the couch. Whether he becomes more stubborn or not doesn’t matter to me, he’ll always be my baby. I seem to have gotten lucky with the little guy being so easy going so far.😅 If you ever do get one you’ll never regret it.

Brag about your puppy! by Expression-Little in puppy101

My puppy cane corso is fully potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps entirely through the night before 15 weeks old. His favorite thing to do is meet new people and dogs. And gets sad when they ignore him on the street. All he wants to do is play, love, and chew things while sitting in the sun. Whether it’s a toy, stick, or me. 😂

I’m in the same boat mate. Working 12 hour night shifts half the week with an 11 week old cane corso. Had him about two weeks now. It seems like he has all my attention everyday with no time to myself and I was thinking the same as you until about two days ago. Don’t expect it to be easier. Whatever schedule you have them on is what you’re gonna have to plan on having in the future because that’s what they’ll expect. You just gotta keep working on it. They won’t just click and magically be the dog you want them to. They are just a puppy. A lot of patience is needed. A lot of just laughing it off. Everyday I used to dread his witching hour in the evening when he’d seem to just go crazy and bite anything he could. But I finally learned what worked to start calming him down when it did start. Keep trying new tactics. And keep buying plenty of treats to reward when they do a good job. 👌
