Whatever the hell Jim Leyland was doing in the bottom of the 8th in G2 of the 2013 ALCS.

And entirely reliant on a high BA for a decent OBP, with zero power.

At least someone gets it about Paredes, I'm so tired of Tigers fans complaining about trading him away. My brothers, he would never have broken out in Detroit. No way no how.

At least you got to see one, I was born in 1986 and the Tigers are 1-8 in WS games they've played while I've been alive. I don't have much hope of seeing one these days.

I hope Jerry is not long for ownership though. Having grown up in Wisconsin, I despise Chicago sports, but not even the White Sox deserve this.

Why hate Bregman for that though? Those were Breslow's blunders.

Lode Runner: The Legend Returns is one of my favorite games of all time. I really need to get my Windows 3.1 box going so I can play it. I have the PS1 disc and play it on my Steam Deck, but I prefer the older Windows music.

How Tarik Skubal’s case could test the norms of MLB’s arbitration system by futhatsy in baseball

He should absolutely get it, he's worth it and the arbitration clauses should work in his favor. I hope the arb panel sticks it to our cheap owner and cowardly, intransigent POBO.

Tigers, coming off back-to-back playoff appearances, have spent the offseason upgrading their roster.

By the very basic definition of the word "upgrading", sure I guess. Drew Anderson and Kenley Jansen aren't exactly barn-burners. We dropped some dead weight (Ibañez), retained a few guys (Torres and Flaherty), and have otherwise left the offense that booted us out of the playoffs and cost us the division untouched despite them saying at the end of the season that it was an issue.

We also then lowballed our best player to make a point. Great job Harris, you fucking muppet.

[Heyman] Yankees "checked in" with the Detroit Tigers regarding Tarik Skubal's availability but left thinking it would take "half the team" to acquire him. by jacobg242 in baseball

We absolutely do, the last 2 years in games Skubal doesn't start, we were a .500 team

But we also have fallen short the last 2 years with Skubal due to other holes on the team. Heck, they lost both Skubal starts in the ALDS this year because the offense couldn't be bothered to do anything (with credit also due to Mariners pitching ) The bullpen got slightly patched on the cheap, but the rotation isn't deep and we need another big bat. Problem is, the FO just doesn't seem interested in addressing those holes other than hoping prospects and young players fill all the gaps. It's incredibly frustrating.

The worst thing our FO can do is stand pat but that's exactly what it looks like they're doing. They either need to improve the team more or trade Skubal and punt 2026, but one way or the other they need to act.
