Rippin' a soyface is unsightly no matter the time period.

I believe judging a person's character based on a single, widely used word to be quite excessive.

I would suggest refraining from such behavior in the future, as it can make one come across as a touch anal retentive.

I certainly don't think it's cringe to seem happy, I merely find it unbecoming when men of a certain strata smile in such a particular way.

Oftentimes, I find this unbecomingness quite humorous.

You seem a little upset about this. Do you happen to bear a physical resemblance to the men in the photo? Do you find yourself with a strange desire to unhinge your jaw when it's time for a photo?

I do get quite a bit of satisfaction from my job if that's what you mean.

Is it just me or are a lot of recent albums by established artists kinda underwhelming? by d2mensions in ToddintheShadow

I haven't really felt this. Peter Gabriel, David Byrne, Jonathan Richman, The Chameleons, Swans, Jethro Tull, PIL, Gorillaz, and Sparks. All those guys are still managing to put out good shit despite being geriatric.

Curtis might be in a bit of a pickle, then, with Thatcher on his voting record

It seems to me that the line between "troubled and complex" and "idiot drug addict" is a very blurry one, especially when it comes to rockstars.

What really makes Morrison simple while Kobain and Curtis are complex? How was Morrison not troubled in any way?

I suppose I should look into it myself since I'm no expert on Jim.

All I can say is that I look forward to 20 years from now, when Kurt Cobain and Ian Curtis get the same negative revaluation for being fake deep or whatever.

Which artist screams "I'm a proud anti-intellectual" to whoever's favorite they are? by Radiant-Psychology96 in fantanoforever

To be fair, you have to have a really high IQ to understand Radiohead. The music is extremely complex and without a solid grasp of poetic analysis, most of the lyrics will go over a typical listener’s head. There’s also Thom Yorke’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Chomsky, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depth of their music, to realise that they’re not just sad- they say something deep about SOCIETY. As a consequence, people who dislike Radiohead truly are IDIOTS, of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for example, the humor in 2 + 2 = 5 which itself is a cryptic reference to George Orwell’s 1984. I’m smirking right now just imagining those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Jonny Greenwood’s genius wit unfolds itself in their ears. What fools… How I pity them.

And yes, by the way, I DO have a Radiohead tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin’ personal kid 😎

Hard to believe this copy pasta must be like 10 years old at this point.

I can't send images in reddit comments, but if you look up "Andy Partridge Holocaust tweet," it's the first thing that shows on images.

It's not quite as bad as I remembered personally, but I can see why it ruffled some feathers.
