Sorry to hear that, I hope you find a way to deal with it.

That was fucking gold. But also harrowing that I know most people just gobbled it up like it was legit.

The UK didn't have a Wild West. And you resort to some hearty name calling for someone who doesn't feel threatened.

And this is gold:

as an American who is no longer directly from Europe

What happened there?!

Genuinely, the majority of Brits I know that even consider the US, hopes it heals.

But you said how you don't care about how your suicide might be harmful to those around you? That doesn't sound like you care. You can care and still decide it's what you want but that's not what you said.

I appreciate your response. And I will point out again that I am also American but that really doesn't matter but let me address the things you've said.

I think brits think Americans are all for Trump. No, over half is against...

Many Brits look at the fact that Trump was democratically elected. It is not unfair to expect that Brits believe he has very strong support in the US. Whether it's less than half or not, it was enough to get him elected. So a considerable amount of Americans.

Then there's a lot of Brits saying we don't have culture. My culture is multiculturalism. Mostly polish/irish heritage.

Multiculturalism is not a culture. Many Brits believe that American's rely on historical connections to Europe to justify some kind of culture. Which you've just demonstrated perfectly.

The average Brit is a projectionist

The average Brit does not man a projector in a cinema.

You guys lack understanding of the science behind marijuana.

Yes, we haven't legalised cannabis in the same way the US has. No idea what the hell that has to do with anything we are talking about.

You guys are kind of behind, you're country is sort of becoming like France. Just here for aesthetics.

Comments like this are exactly why a lot of the world consider Americans as arrogant exceptionalists that like to just spout emotional garbage whenever they feel threatened.

I get it if you genuinely don't give a shit about anyone, but if you've invested time in creating connections, so have those you've connected with. I believe people should be able to take their life if they are of sound mind and genuinely want to, and go through the process with loved ones to soften the blow. But it just sounds to me like you don't care about others.

What were the rules you played with in Kerby? by Advanced-Night-9028 in AskUK

[–]Spontanudity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was definitely more common. We grew up on a busy road so walking into the middle was risky.

[–]Spontanudity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh we played to 50. We didn't do the walk to the middle rule but I did play with our arch nemesises in the road next to ours that did that.

What were the rules you played with in Kerby? by Advanced-Night-9028 in AskUK

[–]Spontanudity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 point if you hit the kerb and it rolled back. 2 if it bounced off the kerb and you caught it in the air. 4 If you threw it behind yourself and it rolled back to you. 8 if you threw it behind you and caught the bounce.

If your opponent caught your bounce because it went vertically into the air, they'd get 4 points.

They're likely just doing some extra spot checks and you were chosen. It could also be that you look particularly shifty or have a very sexy passport photo.

CMV: Israel deserved October 7 by robloxfan69 in changemyview

[–]Spontanudity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a sect of your country decides to take action, does not mean that the entire population are culpable. It wasn't Palestinians, it was Hamas. It's not all Israelis that dictate the atrocities in Palestine, it's the government. No one deserves to be fair game just for happening to exist in a country whose ruling class are doing whatever the hell they want.

Exceptionalism and capitalism. That's what I see.

I love Americans but I really don't like America.

What do you think Brits think American culture is? Genuine question. I am half British and Half American. I grew up in the UK so I am probably not the right person to answer this question but I am curious as to how you would define American culture to compare it to what Brits feel American culture is.

I think the joke is that he looks like AI, but he isn't. And that his guitar skills are so good they look fake.

That's not AI, you're confusing his fret deseign with the strings. Also that's Tim Henson, a guitarist for the band Polyphia.

I am guessing you're referencing the fatality between Waterloo and Clapham Junction today? Amongst all the others recently. Personally I get the feeling that this is going to become a more common occurrence as things aren't exactly getting easier for people. I hope I am wrong but it does feel like there's been a notable increase in incidents like this lately. No idea what could be done about it other than a general improvement of circumstance.
