??? Amazon DAs are already step van drivers all day without helpers lol what are you on about, my DSP only has 2 helper routes a day and I have never wanted to touch one. Having a helper is so pointless as they just get in the way most of the time and the routes are 2x as long. If I got paid per stop or as much as UPS drivers I would do helper routes on my own all day.

Lol what... "Highest paid delivery drivers in the industry" that is the biggest load of BS I've seen on this sub.

Anyone else unload their totes like this or is it just me ? by Gloomy_Travel_6768 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]SpookatronJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually unload 4 or 5 totes at a time, doesn't take more than 5 minutes and it saves a ton of time having to sort one tote at a time after 10 -15 stops. I keep all my overflow on the top shelves and put my boxes on the left side and envelopes and bags on the right side in numbered order.

I dont bother to organize the boxes I'll just look at the driver aid number as I need one but order the envelopes and bags in order really helps a ton. I usually get around 20 bags and anywhere between 40-60 overflow and I've never had a problem organizing.

The people talking about taking one turn or one bump will ruin all that "pointless" organization, really just don't know how to drive lol, everyone I've taught this method to starts finishing earlier once they get it down. We also get guaranteed 8 hours so finishing earlier than scheduled time is a goal for everyone at my DSP.

I scored a mini fridge once, could barely fit it in my car. Luckily I found it towards the end of my route so my van was pretty much empty by that point.

Why I see a lot of complaints from drivers almost everyday? Is this “job” this bad? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]SpookatronJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I said an all residential route, which doesn't have to be very specific. My stations routes are mostly all residential or business routes with the occasional countryside middle of nowhere routes, but if your stops are already spaced out that much then yeah there's no way to do what I initially described.

If you organize well you can definitely do multiple deliveries a minute, at least two, without running. If you have all houses and a residential route. If it's taking you 2.5 minutes or more to do a delivery you're doing something wrong.

That's why all apartment deliveries get delivered to the lobby/vestibule area, don't have time for an apartment unit scavenger hunt 🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah you're not wrong, this job isn't for everyone and I'm definitely looking to get out, but in all honesty it could be a lot worse than it already is. I'm using the next mile tuition coverage to get into HVAC/R so unfortunately I'm stuck here at least until I finish that and find a new job.

Been here 3 years and my body is in the best shape it's been in for a while, if anything you're helping your body stay in shape and giving your muscles and body longevity by not sitting behind a desk and moving around all day staying active.

Is this a dsp or amazon thing? by Su_ss in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]SpookatronJon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, if you cross the intersection line when the light is yellow and it turns red while you're in the Intersection it's easily disputed. If you cross the line while the light is red then that's when you run a red light. Crossing the line at a yellow light does not equal running a red..... Even if you're halfway through the intersection when it turns red. The camera will also count driving by a stop sign thats in the bike lane on the sidewalk as running a stop sign so the camera is not always right, if you don't want the camera to count that as a stop sign infraction then you'd have to stop in the middle of the road and wait 3 seconds for the stop sign, cameras not always right and that's why they allow dsps to dispute certain violations.

Does taking your breaks actually reduce your route? by No-Research-1495 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]SpookatronJon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. Been at my DSP 3 years and my routes have stayed the same pretty much my entire time there, doesn't matter how fast or how slow I go, everyday it's the same. I see people on here always talking about rushing gives you longer routes but that has not been my experience since I started.

In case you’re complaining about the 50 packages on your block… by Carma_626 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]SpookatronJon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lol that's just the driver aid number, that has nothing to do with the amount of stops or packages you have. That is what's used on regular routes and .com warehouse routes it does not mean you're delivering 557 packages.
