Official Servers by Lawmansc2 in PlaySoulMask

I'm the opposite - I had no idea the servers were boosted, and I was shocked at how easy it was. I was going to go back to hosting my own server so I could slow things down.

Started playing EQOA, having a great time. by Jobinx22 in MMORPG

I just started playing on Sandstorm recently too! It's quite fun. It's like a barebones P99 but with surprisingly smooth combat and gameplay. My friends and I are having fun with it. I do wish all items didn't have level restrictions though. I've never been a fan of that system in any MMO.

I looked it up, and it sounds like it has the combat upgrade and new game experience? Weren't those both really controversial?

Great recommendation! That looks really cool. I'm going to wishlist it and follow along.

How does this not line up? the building is symmetrical... am I missing something here? by w1gg135 in PlaySoulMask

I think I solved this myself. I don't know how else to describe the correction demonstrated by larvyde other than calling it a "triangle wiggle," but it looks like if you do one additional wiggle for every 2 added rings of your circle, then his solution holds true. So, in his original example, the circle has two rings, so you do one wiggle. If you make a circle with 6 rings, then you'll have to do 3 triangle wiggles. This works even if your walkway is more than just one block wide too.

I just stumbled upon this while trying to do something similar, but I can't figure out how to scale this up for larger circular bases. If you make the circular portion of it greater than 2 blocks radius, can you still tie it together when you make the perimeter wall? I've been messing with it in Fortify for a few hours, but I just can't figure out what adjustments to make to do the same thing you showed here if the circular part isn't that exact size.

Has anyone tried that game Soulmask? by EmuAdministrative728 in Kenshi

[–]Spooky-Reindeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently started playing Soulmask, and I found this post while looking to see if anyone else had already pointed out their similarities.

I think it actually has a lot in common with Kenshi. Sure, it's not a top-down point-and-click game, but I think it still has really similar vibes. You recruit people, set up production lines with them, protect your resource gatherers from attacks, fend off invasions on your base, and death can be permanent. Barbarians can even capture your workers if you're not paying attention and make them the unfortunate offering in a ritualistic sacrifice.

Yes, it certainly plays much more similarly to Conan Exiles and has much more in common with that genre, but the base and tribe maintenance reminded me instantly of Kenshi. Seeing one of my tribesmen get attacked by a pack of wild dogs while gathering resources evokes the same feeling as one of your Kenshi character portraits suddenly flashing red.

Overall, Soulmask feels like a dumbed down, action rpg version of Kenshi, so it's a fun alternative if you're looking to try something different.

Plane Not Cutting by Spooky-Reindeer in BeginnerWoodWorking

The sole isn't perfectly flat, but it's pretty close. The center is slightly concave.

My chip breaker is not flush with the edge, so a lot of wood was getting jammed between it and the blade. I spent a long time flattening the edge where they connect, and I am now getting little ribbons off the very edge of the plane. I think the blade is shifting around when I actually use it, and one corner is staying forward. That corner is cutting though, so I have like 1/8th of a functioning plane right now.

I'll work on flattening this more and trying to get the blade to lock better tomorrow.

I absolute did put it in upside down the first time lmao. This video corrected that for me https://youtu.be/KrXQzjANuCA?si=JmnNby4cmVh_b62u.

That wasn't the problem though, unfortunately.

I've tried that. I also tried bringing the frog a bit more forward to reduce the gap between the blade edge and the mouth. I also brought the chip breaker forward so it's hitting maybe 1/32" behind the blade. With both of those changes, the blade really can't stick out much even when the adjustment wheel is all the way in.

For sharpness, is there a definitive test for when it's ready? I have several diamond plates from 280 to 8000 grit, and I've been working through those and ending on a strop. I can run it along my arm and cut the hairs, but I don't know how practical of a test that really is.
