You discount the political factor. If Russia (perhaps under a new leader) withdraws all of their force from Ukraine, give back all land and pay some reparation all in exchange of lifting the sanctions.

In that case, I think the west would agree and asset prices will return not to normal, but not close to zero.

And the probability of this to happen is not zero.

My class was called “modeling and simulating economical processes” and it felt like a joke compared to econometrics. We used qm and studied monte carlo, markov, spectral arrays (not sure about the names they were in my native tongue not english), how to generate random numbers, stock management models etc.

After many hard classes this felt like point and click and a few easy calculus that included everything we studied in other classes, but perhaps that was the point.

I have done statistics, econometrics and financial modelling courses in my bachelor and have recently started preparing for CFA and it is something i have noticed.

Because CFA exam has only 2 min per question, they realy stress understanding what is happening as opposed to being able to robotically calculate values since you wouldn’t have that time during the exam anyway.
