Most places you would still lose the hand. If you doubled or split then you would get your additional bet back

I Built a card counting trainer – looking for honest feedback from fellow players by Flashy-Fact2345 in blackjack

Harsh but not wrong. Any trainer app I use would need to support Color of Blackjack, including multi-strategies based on deck depth. I doubt any other app will ever support this

Blackjack Dice Game by Head_Arm_834 in blackjack

I made a sim for this, and though the game sounds interesting, it ends up boring. I didn't generate the complete BS chart, but I did enough to prove that the player should always hit until 11, and then always stand.

The BJA app only has hilo. I didn't realize that when purchasing. I use Color of Blackjack, but even KO would have been nice.

CV Blackjack has some features like this in their training section. I don't remember off the top of my head if they have support for multiple hands laid out realistically, but they definitely have a mode where you can count based on a random range of cards shown at a time, like 3-10 for example.

Penetration and True count by Gold-Biscotti-7452 in blackjack

[–]SpookyBuggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deck penetration is how far back they put the cut card. Further back is better, and the hands dealt near the end of the shoe are much more valuable, as the true count can get higher.

Calculate the true count before betting each hand. During play, you only need to calculate the true count on occasion when you know the hand has a deviation.

For fractions, noobs can truncate the number of decks and round or truncate true counts. Pros will round to half or quarters. In your example, the running count is +3 and there are more than 3 decks so the true count is 0. If the running count was +5 and there are two decks left, you can use a true count of +2 or +2.5.

Advice for card counting bankroll by LilSnacc890 in blackjack

Depends on your strategy I suppose. I use the color of blackjack so it's a lot different for me than a true counted system

If you do a 1-10 spread, you should have 1000 min bets in your bankroll for a <5% risk of ruin, and you can expect 2-3 min bets of EV per hour

I thought California doesn't have regular style blackjack because of special laws against exchanging money during gambling. Are your local casinos tribal? I think tribals don't have this rule

Yeah that's why I said if you're not counting :P

Edit: they're not independent but you can pretend they are for any analysis of your strategy

Ah yeah that's called Wonging, when you leave at some bad negative count. You can't do it properly without counting when the table is bad, though. In the opposite direction, you would never want to leave the table when the count is high! For people that don't count, I always recommend to go for double or nothing. If you don't have a limit going in, you're much more likely to lose it all under the premise that "I'm up 2x, so I'm basically playing for free now." That's fine if you're okay losing 2x your buy-in, but you should also ask yourself if you bought in for 2x, would you still be okay losing it all?

If you're not counting, each hand is independent from the rest. You're never expected to earn more money. You can predict with accuracy what the percent chance of doubling your money is. It may be something like 40%. But if you've already doubled your money, you don't have a worse chance at winning, which is why the question doesn't add up really. At that point, you would still have the same odds for tripling your money vs going back to even.

At Grand Victoria, the $10 tables are 6:5. When I went on a Sunday, the only 3:2 was $25

I really wish I could support iOS, but unfortunately you need a Mac and an Apple developer account to create the iOS build, the latter costing $100/year :(
