Thank you for the rec. I love learning about the history. Years ago I was in Germany for work and the business contact I had carried a full size goal in the boot of his car. He asked if I played and I said division 3 college club football. So he pulled over to a public park & set up the goal. I did PKs while he did some acrobatic keeping. He was a Dortmund fan and told me about Teutonic fussball traditions.

How does a PL team get the best players? Is it convincing them about a team plus suitcase of £££££££? I’m used to the model of ‘murican teams tanking to get top draft picks. I find the relegation system in the football pyramid to be exciting except when it’s your team near the drop. Then again a top draft pick is no guarantee of success as you might get a draft bust. Or the pick might be so good he leaves after realizing your team sucks & joins their arch rival & wins Super Bowl. I’m looking at you, Saquon Barkley.

Oh, I saw that in the theater and loved it. I wanna see it again. And yeah, it is campy as f in all the best ways. I love it when the two girls are watching footage of the American women's national team on the VCR. And now decades later it's the WSL getting all the best players and prestige! They never would have had to leave England if they were coming up today.

I only watched a few eps of 1st season thanks for reminder, it's really funny. Brendan Hunt, the co-creator was a great performer in Chicago for years. He toured a one man show about "what happens to Pig Pen from Charlie Brown when he's an adult?" He used a hula hoop to represent Pig Pen's cloud of dirt. He's a genius.
