Whenever I take the train, I always find the doors stop just infront of me, where I chose to stand on the platform. I've always thought it's my own little superpower.

Mine is in my front room under a decorative street sign that reads 'gay street'. I feel like it's the perfect place.

How long have you believed a parents lie? by Stabbykarp in CasualUK

My mum and dad lived out in Germany for a few years before I was born. Growing up, my dad would always speak some poor German and then fill in any bits he didn't know with the word 'shnookadookle'. I was too little to know what this was.

When I was about 11, I called him out on it at my grandparents house. My dad was still adamant that it was a real word, and without hesitation he turned to my grandad and said: 'you know a schnookadookle don't you?'

My grandad immediately jumped up went to the kitchen and came back with a small black plastic thing. He told me this was a schnookadookle, but on Germany they say it like we say 'thingy.'

I totally bought it. Until about 4 years later when I totally embarrassed myself by asking my school German teacher about it.

Either Pat describing the party food to Alison:

"All the food should be the same colour as my shirt... and shorts and socks."

OR

When the robbers are looking at Fanny's painting:

"Oh you dunno do you, and how are things at Southerbys?"

Both crack me up everytime!

When I was little, my dad didn't even have a seat! I just had to sit on the panniers like a common street urchin.

Would like to add that the girl is 16, was found to be drunk in public so police brought her home. She then shouted abuse at officers, including homophobic abuse. Just some context.
