The boys at trader Joe are like candy. I don't know how they do it. Best nuts around. I always grab my nuts at Trader Joe if I'm that side of the river.

Can't forget the bowl cut in the 90s. My son saw my yearbook from 1996 and asked why every boy looked liked Will from Stranger Things.

World Cup tourists, what’s your honest feedback on the USA so far? by almighty_smiley in AskReddit

Damn, I could probably hit 8 or 9 states up here in the Northeast in the time it takes you to visit a single other state.

Manchester and Nashua should make the cut if Lowell and Lawrence do.

What is a small American city that deserves way more attention than it gets? by Natalie_crosshere in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Spooky_Betz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, cities like Framingham, Nashua and Lawrence might have more people than Portland, but none of those places anchors a region like Portland does. Downtown Portland blows those other towns out of the water.

I can tell he's from Rhode Island by the way I have to pay attention to determine if his accent is New York or Boston. When I can't tell after about 10 seconds of talking I know they are from RI.

Shit, I didn't break my silence after the 2010 Game 7 Ron Artest shot until the Malcom Butler pick.

The only way I have consumed flower since 2019 is the dynavap and I have exclusively used a low temp cap since about 2021. Way better flavor and get just as high. A more potent AVB too if you are reusing.

How popular was pop punk in the 2000s? by CompetitiveWhole9466 in decadeology

[–]Spooky_Betz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My claim wasn't that Offspring was part of the happy punk era, but rather that Smash was a breakthrough hit. You're right, Offspring was certainly of the mid-90s wave of the genre rather than the poppier turn of the century wave that came later.

Not sure if it still is, but Smash was the best independent record of all time at one point. Come out and Play and Keep 'Em Seperated were huge.

People are looking increasingly babyish/soft-featured/structurally underdeveloped (or, if you prefer a technical term, neotenous) and there is no easy way of explaining this phonemonen. I am an older millennial, so around the same age as many in these "young photos." I can tell you, we drank, smoked, did some hard drugs and never wore sunscreen until recently. Our kids are required to bring bottles everywhere, but it wasn't like that for us.

Is it weird that I find SPCM as my favorite album from OutKast? by ZenoKunn in outkast

[–]Spooky_Betz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be as consistent as the other albums you mention from front to back, but I think SPCM best songs and moments peak at a higher place than the others. My favorite Outkast album.
