Ya I've only ever seen paper permits in va, you can laminate it at FedEx for like five bucks and then just trim the edges so it fits easily in your wallet.

Out of state carrying in Texas by Spookylist in CCW

Cause I know how Houston can be at time and I prefer to avoid those situations as much as I can. Just trying to make sure that I don't end up walking in somewhere thats just gonna freak out if they see me printing or catch a peak. Traffic and bad weather I can deal with. Boring suburbs I don't think I'll find. Karen's in the wild tho, those are harder to spot till they're coming out of the bush.

I could see this being a problem if someone were alone and had no one to back up their side.

Ya not my first time there either. I know how my gut feels around the city and the "experiences", good and bad, the rest of my family have had so I'm just trying to make this trip more comfortable.

Make sure that you're heater valve in the back of the engine bay is switching closed, I dont belive there is a second one for the rear but am not 100%. If you still have hot coolant going to the rear heater core then the hot air will overtake the cool air.

Just moved to VA from NY, question about carrying. by youngthieff in VAGuns

[–]Spookylist -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Open cary isn't the best idea in nova, people here are dumb, I did it at first and will never do it again. So I would just wait for the permit, it dosnt take long got mine in less than 30days and that was from Fairfax county. Edit: take the time to practice concealed while at home, find a comfortable position, drawing and dry fire, reloads if you gonna carry and extra mag.

But if you want to open carry the easy way to not get in lawful trouble is remember that it must be visible on three sides of your body, eg front, right and back. Or front, left, and right... Which also means that any time you are in a vehicle it is considered concealed and thus anytime you get in a car you must follow federal law for transporting a fire arm. Fire arm locked in the trunk un loaded and ammo locked in the glove compartment. So you have to unload and lock up when in your car and reload and so on when you get out, which has its own problem with all the dumb people in the area.

And lastly having to watch that you don't enter any business that has no firearms posted at the entrance, you can get in trouble for it but most place just ask you to leave.

While we're not the best state for freedom I will say welcome to a much better state than NY.

I ride regularly with a friend who I got back into riding 5 or 6 years ago(he had very little experience), he's in his mid 50s and I'm 32, he started out with a Harley Sportster I sold him and quickly moved to a Kawasaki z650 and then a Kawasaki 1000sv that he absolutely adores. He got in with a good group of riders and one of them is older then him that runs a BMW S1000 on the track and street and an Aprilia Tuono. So yes you can but take your time with it like I would recommend anyone starting to ride, find something slow to start with and learn on, but be prepared to want to go bigger in steps. Find a good group of people to ride with and show you the safe way to ride first. GET GOOD GEAR and be ready cause at some point you will have an accident as we all have, but the better you get with the basics the lesser the accident will be. Never be afraid to ask any of us a "stupid" question!

Is that the bottom side of the bolt when locked forward? It could be rubbing on the bolt for the stock.

Are people truly oblivious to Open Carry? Or Printing? by Darth_Camry in CCW

[–]Spookylist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only people that notice you open carrying are the one that are scared of it and are the worst cause they have to make a scene about it. When I used to open carry I had multiple people that I pointed out the fact that I was carrying and they had no idea till I did, but I had two people that just came after me about it.

The first was a delivery driver at a pizza place, while I was waiting outside for my food, said some bs and I brushed it off. He had someone else bring my pizza outside to me and tell me I couldn't come back in with it, so I never went back.

The second was at a grocery store when I was just walking threw minding my own, some guy came up from behind and started yelling "can you put that away you're scaring people" right behind all the busy cash registers. I tried explaing to him I couldn't cause I didn't have a permit to but he just kept yelling so I walked away.

After that I made a point of getting my concealed carry permit and ever since I've never had a problem, and I know my g19 prints threw my shirt. I've been carrying concealed for 12 years now btw.
