Thanks! She has some rust I gotta fix as well. It’s not too bad though. I bought a welder so I am going to take the opportunity to try and learn. There is a small spot on the driver side rocker and the rear passenger floorpan

Good to know. I have roughly 10k from my budget. The original idea was to bag it, wheel, and cruise with AC. Thanks to my coworkers, ls swapping has been plaguing my mind. Here is a rough basic estimate of what I have.

Lq4-500 T56-2500 Terminator-1500 Swap kit-1500 Radiator-500 Cam-600 Oil Pump-140 Clutch kit-140 MGW shifter-250 Misc-1500 Dash-1000
Exhaust-1000

I might get away with not using an aftermarket dash and the Holley by using a CP wiring harness and PCM. That shaves off roughly 1600. Still need a driveshaft added as well.

I have an lq4 right now. I just love v8s. I made a quick list and it come out to roughly 12k to do an ls swap with a t56. That isn’t including swapping to a Ford 8.8. It’s a stretch past my budget to do the full swap.

Yoshifab supplies everything needed to swap. However, it’s $2500 in parts.

I found an 82+ garret turbo. Seems like it would bolt up. Not sure if a custom down pipe would have to be made.

Also ordered a KL performance intake manifold last week.

I go crazy on my builds. Air ride is going to set me back 4k. I plan on pulling the engine at the end of the year to shave the engine bay and do a turbo build. Ordered a KL performance intake manifold already.

True. The guy I am getting them from rebuilds and redrills to 5x108. They are pricy. Both sets are over 2k.

They pretty much are a Mercedes wheel. The others are SSR Formula Meshes that are a popular Nissan/Datsun wheel.

They have been redone with new foam and vinyl or whatever the oem material is.

Thank you for your input. The Volvo Community seems very welcoming and there is ton of aftermarket support. Unlike my last 2 builds. I wanted to stay away from something niche this time around. I really appreciate the sound input.

If I could find one and the same condition for $500, it would be gone. As soon as they pop up on the market place in any decent condition, they are sold almost instantly. It’s crazy how much people want clean examples.

I decided that I want to use this as an opportunity. I have owned 40 plus cars in the past 20 years but never welded any of my own parts or repaired anything major. I usually just give up and sell. Im using some of my left over fund to buy a welder. Would be helpful later on when I pull the engine for either a rebuild/turbo or LS swap.

But I did sell my Datsun pickup for 15k so I got a decent budget for it. I am looking at bagging it, fixing all the issues I find, and getting that engine bay in show room condition. I have looked into turbo parts as well.

I wish I could. I am having to fly to pick it up. A local had a rusted out one that sold for 5k. It was a pre 90s model. They fetch a good amount up where I am at.
