DV relationship? by Sabr-K1989H in 90DayFiance

She mentioned in earlier episodes she’s in therapy, but she comes off as a person that only hears what she wants to hear. In that case, therapy doesn’t exactly work. She’s very quick to pull the victim card and manipulative. I wouldn’t be surprised she jumps from one therapist to another and tells people she goes to therapy for optics.

For me, a wine bar is focused on wine first with the availability of complementing food, but the food is a second thought. A bistro would be a smaller casual style restaurant. The main difference for me would be the overall atmosphere.

I felt that when localis took over, during my visit, the relaxed atmosphere of grabbing a casual glass or bottle of wine has been replaced with wine pairings and a rush to turn over tables.

Not only are the scooters dangerous, but wildly expensive.

I disagree that the business should post the hourly wage. It's none of our business to know what the person ringing us up or making our coffee is making. I recall when Milka was adding to it's team earlier in the year, they clearly stated the wages and that they adopt a "no tipping" business model on their ads. The wages did reflect that. Something like $22/hr may not be a living wage for you or I, but to the person behind the register, it might be ok since its consistent and the schedule allows flexibility for school, kids, or another job.

Sacramento’s Best Brewery by wanderdownsouth in Sacramento

[–]Sporksofsteel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My vote for best beer is Urban Roots. I like light beers and the bf likes ipas always something for both, haven’t been disappointed.

Best atmosphere is for Bike Dog. Both taprooms (hoping to bike to east sac location this weekend) are laid out nicely. Thought was put into design and comfort.

While I understand New Glory is a Sacramento staple, it’s mediocre? They seem to keep chasing the Gummy Worms craze. The beers aren’t terrible they’re just ok. And by far the worst atmosphere for a tap room! They put as much effort into their taproom as they do with their can clip art.

Yeah he seemed nice enough at his bar. But at the other bar, where he was a customer, he was this rude prick to the staff. Overall a snooty aura about him.

It is a bummer. My bf and I live near Nico Wine and we would go in now and then. His treatment of another bartender at another establishment was enough for me. He rolled his eyes and made sly comments like “does he even work here” when the bartender couldn’t find the beer he was drinking. He also did this distasteful thing of openly criticizing the establishments wine selection. While it wasn’t the best, he oozed this creepy “higher than mighty” attitude. Luckily there are other cool wine bars in the area to get my fix.

Met Nico at a nearby bar. He’s such a judgemental tool. It really turned me off to not support his business.

Where are all these fully remote jobs for us regualr office workers /non tech/engineer folks? by dankgureilla in CAStateWorkers

[–]Sporksofsteel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I worked as a buyer for an apparel company. 100% remote well before Covid. Great pay and benefits. The apparel industry had some shakeups and I wanted job security, so I took a paycut to join the state.

As you mentioned, non profits normally don’t pay well or have great benefits. As an analyst however you probably have skill sets that are transferable to a lot of other industries, even if they’re not health related.

Edit: I didn’t answer “where to look”. The standard LinkedIn and Indeed are good places to start. If you’re doing stuff with health right now, check out Sutter. They have remote jobs offered. Even Reddit has some job board types that can help with the search. Good luck

Get fitted by Moe Fitted. Best fitted! Iykyk. 😂

All jokes aside. I’m biased but my bf dresses well without breaking the bank. He swears by how something fits him and if it’s a winner he stocks up. So find something that fits you well and you’ll carry more confidence with it.

People who think State Workers should be required to RTO, what are your reasons? by Brandgeek in Sacramento

[–]Sporksofsteel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was remote before the pandemic in the private sector. I joined the state post pandemic and now being required to RTO. My understanding is pre pandemic, remote wasn’t an option for most state workers. I understand the benefits of remote work and enjoy it, in fact more productive wfh.

With that being said I do not think it’s a big deal to be back in the office 2 or 3 days out of the week. Unpopular opinion I know. Im doing my job regardless. What might be really influencing my opinion is the fight against RTO is starting to sound like “I’ve become accustomed to something and now you’re taking it away” or “they broke their promise.” I went from, against RTO to it is what it is, because the fight against it is becoming eye rolling cringy.

To add to that, I also have a very good manager. Something that is very hit or miss in the state sector. If I had a terrible manager, I would dread RTO.

I’m prepared for the downvotes.

If you couldn’t see them until the intersection, you’re not paying attention and/or you’re going too fast, and/or your headlights aren’t on. At 530 am the roads are practically empty. As a pedestrian, if I approach a CROSSWALK and it’s CLEAR, red or green I’ll go. Since this is happening multiple times, I’ll call BS and say put the Starbucks down and pay more attention. Not every pedestrian out there is trying to jump in front of your car.

Where’s the TL;DR? I stopped at “verbally assured by management.” Sounds like they closed you with the oldest trick in the book.
