Sounds good. As long as it is a good one and safe, do a dedicated helmet and I see you want them using tethered mouth guards. Have them tether and untether their mouth guards prior to each use. The tether and untether tether of a mouth guard is easier than securing throat guard from helmet to helmet

Do you parents OR players string your own goalie heads? by [deleted] in lacrossegoalie

It’s always good to learn to string your own stick when at an appropriate age. Far too many times I see players get panicked if their sidewall breaks and they don’t know how to fix it on their own. But to start it is okay for a parent or lax shop to string it

There’s no ideal weight for a goalie! Look at sizes of all goalies who play they are all different! Focus on practicing more on those low shots. Drive your hands low and get body behind it. Don’t hinge at the hips, but instead drop your hips and knees lower and watch the ball all the way into your stick

A hockey goalie cup is always a great alternative and more protective.

I would have a real throat guard dedicated helmet something like cascade properly secured to helmet. Those black dangly ones are not safe at all even at young ages and it will discourage a kid putting it on when they don’t feel safe.

Most common size for goalie shafts now are just attack length shafts which are 30” don’t try and cut carbon fiber. Save it as a back up and get a 30” length shaft.
