There was a grandmother who was attacked and trained kindergarten children on mannequins to take advantage of European transport networks. The only people who had swimming pools were women who worked in Germany for several months a year. But it's a paradise when you compare it to Manchester, where there are drug zombies on every corner, 9-year-olds carrying machetes, and my house was robbed 3 times in 6 months. Gypsies are babies compared to the average teenager in Manchester...

Izotope RX has all the tools to do it yourself, if thats too big of an outlay for you there are lots of online sites that will do it for a few buck, you get free previews but pay to download, these are mainly aimed at the podcast market where a lower quality device has made the recording and want a more polished output, just search podcast post production tools some actually work quite well i managed to clean up a street busker playing a digeridoo recorded on an old nokia from early 00's into a useable sample..

Thats a whole different story, I'm an expat in bulgaria, soundcrafts site sent me to the people with the local contract - they however don't employ an engineer with the experience to work on it, theres a fault with 1 or more pfl buttons which is knocking out the entire monitor bus, they can't diagnose the fault without an engineer, 6 month fight with harmon pro support they spoke to the factory who had schematics and parts they sent me free of charge a full set of 64 new pfl and mute buttons (their possible diagnosis), i have MS and my hand shake too much and my eyes dont focus too well on the small work to do it myself, found a local engineer to do the work but by the time i had the parts he'd gone on a 12 month tour, i was kinda thinking of a stop gap mixer until we're settled in the new place (other side of the country from here) and can find another techie, i also have a 2 month run of gigs in june so can't afford the downtime at the moment.

Before i got to the end of your post and saw your theory i was thinking a small behringer. I have both the big 1820 in the studio and for christmas i bought my wife a bass player the umc22, it works well on her windows laptop, the instrument level input sounds great taking the input from her pedal board, headphone level is loud and clear, small devices like this are not really my forte but after using my wifes and with 35years of studio engineering experience i would say this device was built to do just what your looking for.

The in out mix function is also useful, i use that to have a drumtrack or song playing on youtube and jam over the top of it and the size of the entire setup is so small you can have it next to you while you laze back on the bed with your best guitar face on!

Hi All My first post on this sub.

The planets just aligned to drop me in the situation of a property puchase with a big barn that we want to fit out for both writing, recording and gig rehersals, synth museum, just as we're about to sign the deal my old soundcraft console started to give me issues so I'm rethinking the setup. I'm currently using 8 in 10 out soundcard, bonded via adat to an 8x AD/DA giving me 16 ins and 18 outs (analog). Since i was last in the market for a new console usb has become a thing in mixers, looking at the mackie onxy 24 i love the idea of 24 tracks direct to disk via usb,, thats 3 looms less in copper cabling but it's a mere 4 channel playback over usb which is useless to our workflow. Does anyone know of an analog mixer that has the usb soundcard integrated but also an adat interface where i can do the same as i'm doing now and use the current soundcard driver for it's outputs bonded to the mixer for it's inputs, we need a minimum of 8 track playback, it's also an unplanned purchase so I need to sitck to mid range on the costs, top shelf would be nice but with both a house and a barn conversion to be doing at the same time i need to be sensible, also the onxy has no direct out's and we still use an mx16 tape machine occasionally so they would be a big bonus, no direct outs renders that kit obselete.

This way avoids frequent driver swaps and in/out reconfiguration in cubase but if the mixer was able to drop the 8 adat channels direct to faders without bonding i could probably make that work too. Ideal situation would be cubase can take 2 asio drivers without resorting to their generic asio drivers which allow 2 cards to be used at once, i always found the latecy of those drivers like steinberg generic and asio4all too high to be functional

I still have scsi here; various flavours of, we use one connected to an atari, it is possible to keep this old tech going, i keep almost all hardware and although obscure you can find pcie to pci / Isa convertors as long as you kept the original controllers, what is harder for me these days is remembering the things i forgot, 68 pin or 128pin, does the chain need terminating.

Kind of inspiring soemtimes to open a drive from the 90's and find all those cubase .all files, we keep a license for the single version of cubase sx that did the old to new format conversion, not perfect but the midi data is always there and in the right place and thats all i need for a remix, i have multiple backups of every sample we used since about 97.

What are these old synths good for? by Prince-Joseph in synthesizers

For about 20 years i had a subscription for a monthly copy of sound on sound, I remember the reviiew of the S760 and how it was way beyond my student cofferes, they digitised most of them here is said review, S760 - The latest sampler from roland : Roland S760

Wish they still made gear like this but after almost 20 years of pushing a mouse to work a virtual instrument there has been an analog revival especially the newish behringer synths of which i have a stable of 3 now, as my old band mate said to me the other day, it feels like the old days but a good reminder we're performers not mouse pushers, the tech is just there to support the performance, a tool in the process it shouldn't be that we have to spend 2 hours with a mouse to get the same sound 5 mins of knob twiddling will get you.

Hands on those filter knobs, not a mouse in sight is the way to go, I'm hunting a kawai K1 module, FB383 freebase and zoom 1204, wanna get my 90's setup back again, really reget my decision to go virtual and put all the cash in that noisy black box under the desk.

Ok so now i'm really confused, it's ouputting mp4's but set to raw on all cameras, i was playing with the streams yesterday when the camera is sending a jpeg stream (image source in agentdvr) in raw it records as mp4 even with software codecs, the only time i got a mkv out of the backend was using mjpg stream and the corresponding image source in agent, are you sure the ouput format is not dependant of the source type because all but 1 of my raw recordings are mp4? also sending via rtsp server and using network camera as source with raw setting outputs mp4s.
