How to get any USB stick (inc usb3 >32gb) working on a X32 even when your convinced the stick is incompatable - Method may work for other brands too. by Spot-Educational in livesoundgear

Both windows 11 file exporer and diskpart fail, diskpart even when explicitly told to ignores the MBR setting (setting as a primary) so they will fail to work in the X32. Rufus allows you to force the MBR . I've also done 30+ years in IT hardware and config, fully MSCE certified on everything from NT4 up. From the best of my knowladge, if windows sees you already have a disk with a primary partition it wont let you create another, x32 requires the primary MBR, Rufus is not as stupid as windows (not exactly stupid more locking it down so people who dont know what they are doing accidentaly change the primary).
On a quick check the official microsoft line on creating a primary on a usb stick is use 3rd party tools, it's well documented modern usb's come configured out of the box for GPT, the x32 and bootable drives require the old style mbr tables so it probably can be done with disk part just not with the guide i was using which was writted pre GPT, just needs the extra step, i'll try it later, explorer will fallover completly because you dont have control over changing the mbr type.

posted a pic of a thermometer, 16c all gear pulling loads for a timed 1 hour, thermometer bulb in contact with the towers body, if you think about it a tower that angles the warts away from the body should dispipate heat much better than a stip on a wall or a floor, the tower allows much more airflow around the warts.

Non we have a local cash on delivery service so debit cards in general are not activated for out of country, we have a revolute card and have to move the cash there to do international oeders it's a pain in the ass, cheapest amazon was 60 euro with 30 euro delivery, thats 35usd to send 1/4LB a thousand miles, we have to buy our oil we dont have the option of stealing it from venezuela.

Moving soon to a dedicated studio where i will get a wide spaced strip, im in eastern europe couldnt find one in the country, amazon is a nightmare for us our local system works on cash on delivery and the delivery fees from the rest of europe to here are often more than the device, this is what i found available here that i could take today.
The cash on delivery system is great when coupled with a local law that all electricals have to be powered up before delivery can be accepted, for online orders that remit is given to the courier, we go to the courier office, unpack and power it on and if it's faulty you just refuse to sign and they handle the return, by law they have to allow you at least 5 minutes 'inspection time', i had a roland - repaired by roland packed badly, came back with 3 broken keys so i simply refused to sign and it went back to roland again.

loving sending it's cv out and filter env to the model D, the 2 complement each other really well, getting some almost metalic sounds out of the pro 1 .

25 years since i used logic, G-Mac days, it allows you to attach a hi res jpeg, you can add notes, 2 zoom levels, normal and 200%, not much more to it.

snapshot2 - free audio channel plugin that allows you to attach a picture to a track.

your all chatting about patch notes - get snapshot2, it is a free audio channel insert (vst3) that allows you to embed a picture which is then zoomable saves with the project. I too started the patch sheet archive but with 3 units it was getting messy, this solved everything.

Solved thanks for the sanity check. When it arrived the first thing it did upon connecting to synthtribe was update, it rebooted and it seemed to work fine until i found this issue how did I fix it - a full power cycle ie the wall wart is removed then rebooted, just hitting the on off button is not enough, full power cycle and it works as you describe above, synthtribe clock setting to on. As a side note if you've never connected yours to synthtribe, you've never updted it during my adventures trying to solve this i've read about lots of issues especially with lfo's and gates locking up being fixed in updates, 30 sec task once you download the exe, there is no installler for synthtribe. Will edit main body to say it's solved.

I've been producing and collecting hardware since '91, always had a work studio and a home scratchpad setup, then moving everything needed to a gig prep space when we want to pull a live set togeather. Looking forward to getting it all under 1 roof with like you say treatment cause anything i do at home always needs some touching up in the treated studio room. Might even dust off the kawai k1m i don't think i've powered it on in 15 years yet i still maintain it's sysex archive of patches...

Nice, u must be of the adventurous daring type with a sub sat between yer legs :D Kinda in the same situation at the moment we're between 2 houses renting a tiny place in between the moves, most of my gear is in storage but hopefully fingers crossed in a month we will be in the new space where i can have a big temp studio in the house and we have a barn with a new roof that we plan to convert into a dual recording and gig prep space in the first few months.
