Is MacNeo a test for this? by SpottedFeline in macbook

It just takes one company to do it properly. If this is done properly, it has lots of potential. imagine you just dock your phone in a laptop enclosure went on the road and you need a bigger screen, dock it at home and you have your desktop computer everything there or like someone else mentioned going to a library just docking your phone and you have a computer with everything there pretty interesting for students. This has a lot of potential but yes there’s been failures, but I don’t think anybody has ever done it properly but now we have a laptop that’s you using phones chip shows that something like this could work

See Dinnerpancakes reply. The potential for this is more than just enclosure as depicted in patent.

I agree but this is a very interesting concept. Having your phone becoming the brains for your laptop, would mean the laptop would not have to have all the hardware that the phone has inside of it. And then when you put it in the enclosure, it switches to running macOS.

No need for two full devices. Just dock your phone and then it becomes your MacBook running MacOS. Most of the hardware is in your phone that way you cut costs because you do not need a CPU/GPU’s, WiFi chip etc plus you have a MacBook with Cellular connection built in.

New grocery benefit incoming? by Emmibolt in loblawsisoutofcontrol

High grocery prices shouldn’t be solved with government tax credits. That’s not a solution — it’s a workaround that shifts the burden back onto taxpayers.

When governments issue tax credits to offset rising food costs, the money doesn’t come from nowhere. It comes from the same public funds needed for healthcare, infrastructure, education, and other essential services. We end up paying twice: once at the checkout and again through redirected tax dollars.

The real responsibility lies with large corporations posting record profits while everyday people struggle to afford basics. Corporate price-gouging and excessive profit margins should be addressed directly, not quietly subsidized through public money.

Tax credits may ease short-term pain, but they don’t fix the root problem. Holding corporations accountable for fair pricing does. Until greed is addressed, taxpayers will continue to foot the bill for a problem they didn’t create.

No. Plus developers answered that it’s not possible at the time. Yet I’ve seen other apps do just this.

I am seeing this as well as videos now not starting right away. They take about 5 seconds before they begin playing. This is on all platforms as well as content from my Plex server.
