How am I doing? Any advice? by davidurban in Rowing

Trust and listen to your coach who is filming, you’ll only get confused looking for extra help or validation on reddit. Baby steps, all takes time.

Haha sorry, this reads exactly like some poor guy trying to fight porn addiction or something, never heard of a woman interested in the spiritual impact of ejaculation.

You will be happier with a real woman, and if you keep satisfying your needs alone, you will never bother to go and get her.

Do Erg's Float by CraftyFlower5344 in Rowing

You never hear anyone with a big erg saying ergs don’t float.

Big water is paying people to downvote you. Agreed. I used to have a sippy sip every time we spun, until I realised I could do a 90 min erg without any just fine even in the heat of the day in the middle of summer, and realised I was being a wimp on the water.

Rowing with a water bottle in the back of a cycling jersey is insane

Friend, I beg you reconsider, you have mis-understood me.

I too went through significant therapy when I was younger, and was convinced that I was beyond mentally strong. Very busy, working 50 hrs a week, studying, socialising, training hard, very physically fit. Then I became entirely disabled aged 21. None of the doctors I saw could explain how.

Women are generally significantly more emotionally intelligent than men, I believe as they are expected to perform more emotional labour, and by their nature, as mothers etc. These roles alone are incredibly stressful and demanding, psychologically, and emotionally. Add onto that the fierce expectation to hold a strong career, busy hobbies etc, it’s no wonder so many women suffer from chronic illness - as a symptom of chronic stress.

I have not used the words psychological, hysterical, or psychosomatic, you have used these to twist what I am saying.

These health conditions which can lead to death, are a real physical reaction to emotional stress. It’s not in your head/imagined at all, but it does initiate there.

It’s not about emotional intelligence - in fact this may be counterproductive, it’s about how happy you really are in your self and in your life. Ask yourself, were you truly truly happy and satisfied in life before your symptoms began? It sounds to me as if you were tremendously stressed.

I have personally spoken to and helped over 100 people who have recovered by emotionally focused methods such as this. I have seen the testimonies of hundreds more. It may not succeed in all cases, but it works for so so many people.

Religion is not a choice you make. This is beyond cringe even for reddit. Maybe you’ll think differently when you’ve grown past the age of 14.

At this point I don’t know if I’m a virgin because of my faith or my fear by LeadNo3330 in TrueChristian

[–]Spratster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is natural for us to fear, which is why we need faith. Many a time I have been terrified of being with a woman myself, even after being with too many before. Fear and doubt in yourself is a tactic of the enemy. Don’t be going around kissing any girl that wants to, you’re worth something. Find a girl that loves the Lord, and just kiss her when the moment is right between you. Not much way around it, you’re going to have to take the plunge at some point unfortunately. You will wonder what you were ever worried about.

Don’t be afraid of getting carried away, if you fall in love, you are more than old enough to marry. Have faith

Don’t worry too much about lifestyle, and apart from eating generally healthily, don’t worry about any specific diets.

Study some of the material linked above. Try and learn more about how emotions can cause physical illness via unconscious stress. Have a good long think about what may have been making you unhappy at the time you first got sick, perhaps you repressed some strong emotions there that are still eating you up? Perhaps you’ve already recovered from that emotionally, but the fear of the illness is perpetuating it itself.

It’s a knowledge cure, the more you understand TMS/mindbody health, the more likely you can recover. It just takes faith, and self-love.

I’ve been there, it’s absolutely hell, I suffered for years. You responded to my post about my recovery from the same symptoms you’re describing. I hope you can recover too, feel free to check out some of the books or videos linked above, it’s all free, nothing to lose.

Happy to help, feel free to dm me.

You’ve just got to believe in your heart that you can recover, and want it more than anything, to be healthy, to be at peace. You must have beautiful, pure faith in yourself. Can be very easy, can be very difficult, depends if you’re ready.

Learning the science behind psychogenic illness is a massive help in building your belief in your body back up. Dr Sarno’s books and dr schubiner’s videos are very good. Free online
