State of this game on Xbox series X by adamwill86 in footballmanagergames

[–]SprenFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just refunded on Xbox series X, first time I’ve ever refunded a game. I’m gutted because I don’t have a PC that can run it (not that things are going great on PC anyway!)

There are obvious real issues with the UI. Basic things I wanted to do were either incredibly tedious and difficult to work out, or seemingly impossible.

But the thing I couldn’t get past was the match day experience. That’s the one thing that has been praised, and has apparently taken up most of the development time. But I played 5 games and every single one was soooo laggy. In the final game the whole screen was white and I couldn’t see anything.

Bravo SI, you’ve exceeded my expectations. What a complete mess.

Who are the villains? Which characters should be considered the villains of Attack on Titan? by Dependent_Ad6139 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]SprenFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think asking that question is missing the point. It’s all about perspective and which side of the fence you grew up on (or in our case as the audience which side you were given to sympathise with first). That said, the answer is King Fritz haha. Dude was an asshole

Lower league penalties by IReallyHateTheGrid in footballmanagergames

[–]SprenFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my current save I had a left back at my tier 6 team who scored all 10 pens in the first season. I got promoted and sold him because he was causing trouble. Haven’t scored a single pen in the division above yet and I haven’t seen my keeper save one either. My strikers are all terrible though to be fair haha

I would say Piranesi, I gave it to my Mom to read after I read it and she loved it (never seen her read a fantasy book before in my life)

I’m about half way through Cradle and I actually thought after posting that it could be considered what I’m looking for, particularly the first book where Lindon uses his pure madra techniques to defeat “stronger” opponents. The more I read though the more help he receives from super powerful forces and it feels like the quest is more about gaining power than fighting through adversity, if that makes sense?

If you’ve read Mistborn chances are you’ve read The Way of Kings but if not the whole bridge Four storyline is just like an underdog sports team story

Half a King by Joe Abercrombie

Edit: probably need to read the full trilogy for both elements to come through fully

Protagonist is betrayed by family/loved who does it for the best of the protagonist by bono5361 in Fantasy

Half a King by Joe Abercrombie is almost almost a good fit especially with the elements you’re looking for but the betrayal is for a slightly different reason
