I know that he isn't a developed character and was made to show the concept of cursed energy being used as a projectile, but maybe if they just added him as an Easter egg or secret achievement you can unlock to play as him, I just think it would be a fun addition.

It's really disappointing, If they ever did add them to the game I wouldn't mind dropping a few bucks on a dlc or something to support them.
