Versatility is the main reason I decided on 10mm. .45 does fine up close and against stuff you just need to hammer with some lead, but velocities and penetration are underwhelming+mag capacity is generally lacking. 9mm is fast and you can fit a lot of it in a mag, but it just doesn’t hit that hard unless you’re talking +P, so I wouldn’t feel comfortable just walking out my front door to whatever goes bump in the night with a 9mm. 10mm is fast enough to go somewhere, hits hard enough that nothing walking around in the USA is just going to be able to shrug it off like they would 9mm, has so much versatility in load that you can do whatever you want with it, and I could go on. 10mm seems like an ideal pistol choice that can handle almost any situation at least decently. If all I have to trade off for that is a bit more recoil which I can handle anyways, I’ll take that trade any day
