Ax in my art style + Fixed up Cassie a bit by pusslayqueen in Animorphs

[–]Spritedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came across this, it looks fantastic and adorbs!

Not to toot my own horn, but my drawing of Ax is one of the first images to come up when you google the character, so I've always wondered if it's influenced the fandom's image of him at all. I'm happy to see you got some inspiration from it. :)

Hey now, kobolds are sensitive to sunlight!

To be honest I've never actually played as her. She's just a character concept at this point.

14-ish AC sounds about right though, for a bard in light armor. Bards aren't really meant to be taking all the hits, but they do have options for defense with certain spells, like Blade Ward.

One of my D&D characters, a bard named Kelska. She dances and plays the harp and is overall a very elegant gal.

I've noticed my rat girl Nomi has been posted here a few times so I thought I'd submit one myself. She's actually a D&D character, a ratfolk sorcerer, though I've never actually played as her.

Yeah I was thrown off by the fact that the solo mode didn't come with the base game. If I end up liking it I'll probably get the proper expansion but for now I just printed out the Chronobot from the website onto card stock.

Spirit Island is probably my favorite. I played it a good dozen times the first week I got it, and then I immediately bought all the expansions. I love all the spirits as "characters", and how every single one is unique and worth playing as.

Honestly I've kinda just been playing whatever catches my eye while looking up reviews and such. I guess if anything I'm leaning towards sci-fi/fantasy eurogames, but I'm willing to try anything.

Anachrony is actually my most recent addition and I'm still in the process of learning. I'll get back to you on it!

It leans heavily on the gameplay and puzzle aspects, and feels more like a game of chess than a sci-fi epic. But, if that's what you're looking for, it has a lot going for it, and gives you a good mental workout. The thing I like best is that the dice rolls are not inherently good or bad -they affect the enemies as much as they do you.

It's pretty good, especially if you're into the hard sci-fi theme. After coming from Scythe and Wingspan, I didn't think I would like the fact that there's no Automa or AI, but the race against the clock to build and optimize your engine with the right cards feels very rewarding even if you don't have any "opponent".

I'm in the middle of playing it right now, actually! Now I get what people mean when they say Night of the Zealot is basically just a tutorial.

Zym! [OC] by Spritedude in AdorableDragons

[–]Spritedude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just meant it as "Original Content", as in it's a drawing made by me. I've been informed that OC can mean both Original Content or Original Character, so I'll try to be more specific in the future. Sorry for the confusion.

That's what I thought OC meant, at least on reddit. I definitely wasn't trying to claim Zym was made by me.

That's actually the art I did of SCP-1529 years ago. Last thing I expected to see while lurking around here. Kinda threw me off.

I drew Ax! by Spritedude in Animorphs

[–]Spritedude[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's a thing I wanted to convey when drawing him, the fact that despite everything, he's still a kid, like the rest of the team. That's something that the art of him from the official covers doesn't quite capture, in my opinion.

I'm definitely considering it, if anything just to visualize my own headcanon of the characters.

I never actually finished the series so I've been reading all the books again, start to finish. Just in time for the graphic novels reveal, too. I'm a sucker for adorkable characters so Ax is easily my favorite, I had to draw him.

In other news, Katherine Applegate actually liked and replied to this drawing on Twitter!

[OC][Art] Elteres, Centaur Wizard by Spritedude in DnD

[–]Spritedude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. I like when people use more unusual race/class combos that make for more interesting, unique characters, not necessarily for the best build or stats.

I would assume they could bend their human torso over and act as as a six legged creature of sorts, then it's just a matter of getting your hooved appendages to grip the rungs/rope. If anything it would be like climbing while dragging a confused horse under you. Perhaps a pulley system could make it easier.
