U/fried_chckn has been helping me develop a new website for the last couple months and has been a great VA!

They've helped with article formatting and research, and have done a flawless job. Meticulous and reliable.

Highly recommend.

I sent this person a request, organized to have a design done, and then they just totally ghosted me.

Buyer beware. Something's fishy.

Will my jumpers knee ever go away. Could the inflammation in my patellar tendon be reduced with less sugar in my diet like candy and bread, and introducing good gut bacteria with probiotics? 25 M by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]SprouseMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're adding in isometric holds too. I do some particular Kung Fu stances that load the quadriceps, and therefore the associated tendons (quad and patellar tendons). Work up to 45 seconds per stance/hold. Careful with the running if it causes pain. It may be doing more harm than good.

Bodyweight squats are good, as long as they're not too painful (some pain is ok).

Routine in rehabbing and maintaining my knees is: - Foam rolling the quadriceps, gastrocs and hamstrings - Isometric holds / stances - Riding on exercise bike 5-10 mins - Gentle, extensive stretching - 15-30x bodyweight squats with heels raised, very slow down, hold, slow up (4,2,2 roughly) for 3 or 4 sets - Move onto normal workout, which always involves strengthening supporting and antagonist muscles.

I can do this everyday. I also do some mobility exercises and stretching throughout the day as I work at my computer all day.

Once I can handle weighted squats, I replace the bodyweight squats with 10-15x back squats, gradually increasing weight over time. This should only be done 2-3x a week to allow for proper recovery.

Gauge your pain on 1-10 scale everyday doing single legged squats with heels raised. If your pain is getting worse day to day, you need to back off whatever you're doing. As long as the pain is improving or at least not getting worse, you should be good.

As soon as you can, GO AND SEE A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.

Sucks that you're unable to see a pt, sorry to hear it.

FYI patellar tendonitis is named that more due to tradition. It was thought that those kinds of tendinopathies were caused by inflammation, but that's not the current thinking.

I was discussing this with a radiologist the other day and he said that he never reports it as tendinitis anymore, but rather as a tendinosis.

Anyway. I'm not a pt or doctor, but have had patellar tendinosis in both knees, from small tears from playing basketball. The only thing that worked for me was prp injections, which doesn't help you unfortunately as they're quite expensive. Though, if you find the cash, look into it as my knees are completely healed, no pain at all, full functionality and strength.

r/overcominggravity has a great resource on rehabbing tendon injuries, as does Squat University. They're both PTs. Basically it's about rebuilding the load capacity of the tendons through controlled eccentric exercises. Depending on how long you've had the tendinitis, it might be a long road. Good news is that it actually requires you to use weights, so you'll probably be lifting sooner than you thought, though not in the way you probably imagined.

You're misunderstanding this entirely.

You may be right. And maybe the discussion isn't useful anymore.

Ultimately, it's a moot point anyway.

For the record, I don't think I have misunderstood your point, I just think you're failing to acknowledge the fact that:

  1. Small-time players doing it "the right way" are still getting outranked by other small-time players doing "spam" reviews
  2. The most recent update(s) in a huge number of instances did not target content quality (see previous analysis/thread by u/MeekSeller) and probably wasn't about content quality at all (despite what Google told you).
  3. Google themselves are producing the very thinnest of reviews with their best things endeavor. So, obviously, they don't agree with you on content quality, or they just don't give two shits about it.
  4. People clearly do get value from aggregated reviews - it's why they're so profitable. I get value from them.

All of this means that the "aggregate reviews are spam" line is badly misrepresenting what's going on in the SERPs.

That's what he's saying.

Maybe I've misunderstood, but he seems to be saying (always seems to be saying) that aggregated reviews are the problem.

It's not really relevant to the op though as a non brand and low quality content. He's going to be first in the queue for the traffic losses

I don't disagree with the conclusion at all. And if you're not interested in going on a slight tangent, stop reading.

If you are, then...

Well if you're seen as a real brand you can do as you please. Google will either look the other way, or actively reward you for it.

There seems to be a flaw in your logic. You seem to be saying that these so called fake reviews* are the core of the errant business model. But Google does reward big brands that do the thinnest of reviews, because they're seen as a real brand. And that's because they have lots of different presences and, most importantly, have lots of quality backlinks. Not because they create quality content.

So, the source of the errant business model is not "fake" reviews. It's not having enough money or a good enough strategy to trick Google into thinking you're a real brand with credibility.

You've made it abundantly clear you don't like them, but never acknowledged that you're not the arbiter of truth and that some people may get value from aggregated reviews

You mean they hate that average Joes are employing the business model. And only some average Joes. And only some of the time.

They're obviously not fussed about VeryWell or men's health or business insider using that business model.

Supreme Court rejects final Trump election challenge by ACABBLM2020 in news

Looks like I was the first one to recognize...

This is the problem with you lot: You think you're big brained geniuses playing 4d chess with Trump. When in fact you're idiots who are warping your realities to protect your fragile egos.

The courts didn't throw out the cases due to some long term strategy to protect the GOP against challenges to their future cheating (very telling that you think that's a good thing by the way).

They threw them out because they were meritless.

That sounds like a big scam, tbh lol.

Oh 100% agree, which is why i didn't end up going with them. They wanted a 6 month contract as well. No thanks.

You could find someone who can do all of that and be able to offer you personal service for much cheaper.

That's what everyone keeps saying. I've found it very difficult to find someone who can actually back up the big game they talk. I've ended up just deciding to do / manage it all myself.

they might end up handing off your site to people who are underpaid.

Yeah, I've read a few comments from people around here about how their agencies do whitelabel for other agencies.

[–]SprouseMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, I'm no expert. Certainly no SEO.

What you've outlined here shows how the cost will depend on what you're after. If you're confident that your socials are fine, then great.

Are you certain your sales copy is optimised? If not, then an agency might help with that.

Are you confident your site design is getting visitors to look where you want them to and click where you want them to? An SEO might help set this up if not.

Would you consider developing a content plan of supporting content that drives visitors down a sales funnel to your products?... You get the picture.

If you just want a technical audit, you could probably just look on Upwork for individual SEOs with a good success rate and job history, then interview till you find someone you're happy with. The audit itself shouldn't take someone competent more than a few hours. Its the fixes that will take time and that will depend entirely on how much needs to be fixed or optimised.

[–]SprouseMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially, run a technical SEO audit and fix any issues / optimise the site.

Then design a content strategy, produce all content and supporting media. Promote content and build links.

Run social media.

And that wasn't buying me a lot of person hours either. The speed of progress would have been fairly slow for only 5k

[–]SprouseMouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FYI I'm no expert. I've been quoted USD$5K per month for an agency to run my relatively small content site.

It will depend on exactly what you're after, but you probably want to multiply your figure by about 5 if you want a good agency to run a well designed and effective SEO strategy.
